Ms. Delores Favorite

Ms. Delores “Granny” Favorite was born May 31, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Thelma Collins-Trice and Curtis Favorite, Jr. Our queen, the matriarch of the family gained her wings August 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Covenant Hospital at the age of 77 years. Ms. Delores was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Hodge. She enjoyed watching basketball and football. Her favorite teams were the Golden State Warriors and the New England Patriots. Ms. Delores also enjoyed playing cards cooking spicy foods and hanging with her great-granddaughter, Ja’Leeah Griggs. Delores loved being with her family laughing, telling jokes, being very classy and putting you in your place. Overall, Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend: all before her sickness. Ms. Delores leaves to cherish so many memories, two daughters, Marilyn Favorite-Harris and Jeanette Favorite; two sons, Cammie (Sylvia) Favorite; bonus son, Deion (Fredricka) Lee; Debra Wallace, Tamara (James) Prince and Jammie Green that she loved as daughters; a host of grandchildren, Tory (Patrice) Hoskins, Dominique (Coatis) Beechum, MarChare Canada, Deloria (Brandon) Acklen, Jamele (Katie) Favorite, Jamal (Jordan) Hughes, Taronda Southward, David Favorite, Sr., Kyomonique and Armand Berry, Zhan’e Favorite, Lakisha Favorite, Timmie Favorite, Sr., DQuan Favorite, JaMesha Mortant, Kenton Nicholas, Arshawn Hulett, David and Kiara Wallace and Jamnay (Mychal) Elam; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren including bonus grandchildren, David Southward and Samuel Templeton whom she loved as her sons; two sisters, Rosemary Palmer and Kathy Trice both of New Orleans, LA; two brothers, Joesph Trice of Texas and Isaac Trice of New Orleans, LA; two nieces that she loved dearly, Geraldine Ford and Mary Ann Carter; god-son, Fredrick Harvey, Sr.; sister-in-law, Martha Sherman and Claudett Lewis; a host of other nieces and nephews; special cousins, Elouis Jones and Rosa Lee Moody; special friends, Margo Ballard, Shirley Hamilton, Melody Jackson, Mildred Grace Gipson, Banesha Hamilton and Galen Brooks; extended families, the Templetons, Beechum, Blakes, Hulett, Williams, Frazier, Southward, Parham, Hamilton, Collier, Jackson and Brooks. Ms. Delores Favorite was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Favorite; grandson, Dondre Martin; great-grandsons, John Parham III, DeQuarious Southward, De’Tavion Favorite, Sr. and Timmie Favorite, Jr.; parents, Thelma Collins-Trice and Curtis Favorite, Jr.; brother, Jessie Trice; grandmother, Ella-Vee Favorite; grandpa, Williams Collins and grandfather, Curtis Favorite, Sr.; god-parents, Thelma and Adolf Legard; bonus son, Johnny Frazier; step-grandson, Carl Harris, Jr.; son-in-law, Carl Harris, Sr.; niece, LaTasha Frazier; aunts, Joyce DuBois and Elma Preston; a special cousin Betty Murray and the father of her children, Reverend Camie Frazier. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church, 2403 E. Remington St., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Murry Culberson, Pastor and Pastor James Hodge will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
