Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Browne's Mortuary, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Austin, Sr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Donovan Richardson Barkley, our son, father, and grandfather, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at St. Mary’s hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Age 45 years. He was born August 27, 1966 in Zanesville, OH to the late Gwendolyn Richardson. Mr. Barkley was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Saginaw High School and was employed at Grey Iron Metal Casting-GM until his illness. Donovan enjoyed fishing, camping and had a love of nature. His memory will be cherished by the mother of his children, Kimberly Barkley; daughter, Jasmine Barkley, Saginaw, MI; son, Donovan Barkley, Saginaw, MI; granddaughter, Melony Mitchell; parents, Uleslie and Lucille Surles; brother, James Hadden; sisters, Vickie (Jim) Stewart, Marcia Hadden (Ben) Williams and Tamika Richardson; uncles, Jack (Laura) Surles, Flint, MI and Henderson (Jimmie Lee) Foster, Saginaw, MI; aunts, Doris McCloud, Detroit, MI, Josie Hunt, Flint, MI, Barbara McCloud, Saginaw, MI, Geraldine Richardson, Cincinnati, OH, Ethel Pearl Richardson, Arkansas, Debra Richardson, Newark, NJ, Dollie Lawrence, Pauline Lawrence, Ella Williams, Odessa Surles and Bobbie Davis, all of Saginaw, MI; sisters-in-law, Michelle and Georgia Barkley; brother-in-law, Marc Holmes; a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew, Unique Williams and Leslie Barkley; and many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mary Cirilo, Willie Earl Banks, Steven Davis, Kevin Breckenridge, Roger Rosalez, Bennie Batts, Larry Wells, Harold Turner and Joel Andrews.
