Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Campbell

Mrs. Dorothy (Foster) Campbell was born to the proud parents of Lindberg, Sr. and Artie Lee (Moore) Foster in Union Springs, Alabama. She passed away in the comfort of her home with her family by her side on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the age of 89 years. Dorothy graduated from Carver High School in Union Springs, Alabama. She later moved to Cleveland, Ohio and then relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where she married Mr. Hosey Lee Campbell also of Union Springs. From this lifelong union, they were blessed with three daughters. Dorothy was employed by Tony’s Restaurant. After leaving Tony’s, she became an entrepreneur with her husband in the produce business which was successfully run throughout Saginaw and Genesee County. Outside of the business, Dorothy stayed busy taking care of her family. She was an avid walker and loved cooking delicious meals. Dorothy was a faithful member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years joining under the leadership of Pastor Robert Corley, Sr., and serving under Pastor Paul E. Broaddus before she transitioned. She leaves to cherish many precious memories three daughters, Sandra Campbell (Oscar Darby) Saginaw, MI, Gail (Jeffrey) Ervin, Cincinnati, OH and Jackie (Kernef) Jackson, Saginaw, MI; seven grandchildren, Shayla Campbell, Shatory Carr and Randall (Rose) Calloway, all of Dallas, TX, Jesse (Kristen) Campbell, Florence, KY, Quincy (Mercedes) Drake, Dayton, OH, Kharrington and Darnell Jackson, both of Saginaw; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Inez Dominick, Cleveland, OH; two brothers, Lindberg Foster, Jr. and Samuel (Brenda) Foster, both of Cleveland, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousin “Tot”; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Dorothy Rine Campbell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hosey Lee Campbell; parents, Lindberg, Sr. and Artie Lee Foster; two sisters, Ruth Lang and Cora Howard. The family would like to express special thanks to Kim Sweenie for the love and care shown to Dorothy. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
