Mr. Earl "Joe" Morris, Sr.

Mr. Earl Morris Sr. was born July 18, 1937 in Newellton, Louisiana to William and Mary Morris. He passed away on December 27, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Earl was a resident of the City of Saginaw, Michigan and was a longtime, dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Earl enjoyed fishing, watching, cowboy movies, sweets and especially sweet potato pie. He loved spending many, many hours at his church events whenever, doing whatever was necessary to get done. Mr. Morris was a member of UAW Local 668 and a retiree of General Motors Corp. with 30 years of service. He leaves to cherish precious memories his loving wife, Donella Morris, Saginaw, MI; three children, Kathy Jean (Larry), San Francisco, CA, Lacrissa Randle, Saginaw and Earl (Tracy) Morris, Jr., Murfreesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Edward (Ahley) Cottman, South Lake Tahoe, CA, J’Lyn Earl and Jai Armond Morris, both of Murfreesboro, TN, Jerich David Antwine, Teresa Facon and Aaliyah Alice Green, all of Saginaw, MI; great-grandchildren, Aleesha, Kemario, Edward III and Arica Cottman, all of South Lake Tahoe, CA and Kayliah Willis, Saginaw; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends including special friends, Taylor and Loretta Webb. Mr. Earl Morris, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Morris; sisters, Mary Smith and Katherine Tolson and Dorothy Bass; brothers, Jimmy Nash and William Morris, Jr. mother and father-in-law, Howard and Lucille Bennett; brothers-in-law, Howard Lee Bennett and Louis Hopson. The family extends a special thanks to Covenant Healthcare Medical Center, Great Lakes Rehab Center, Heart to Heart Hospice, Bethlehem Baptist Church and its Youth Ministry for loving on Earl, sister Carolle Walker for her devoted time for visitations and transportation for Earl to church service and events during his stay at Great Lakes Rehab. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3309 Bundy St., Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Lafayette Simpson will officiate. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
