Elisha Tillman,

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2115 Wadsworth Avenue. Pastor Leon L. George will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue. Our dearly beloved Elisha (Big Lodge) Tillman, Jr. passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. He was born May 7, 1954 in Saginaw, MI to Elisha, Sr. and Lutitia Tillman. Elisha, Jr. graduated from Saginaw High School in 1972, retired from Saginaw Grey Iron Casting Plant in 1992 and was a member of UAW Local #668. On March 2, 1998 he married Rosalind Renee Lewis. He was a member of the Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he served faithfully alongside his wife in the Community Service Department. Elisha was affectionately known as "Mr. Lodge" by the neighborhood children who came to the "Candy House". He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Rosalind Tillman; two daughters, Nikeya (Antonio) Anderson, Rosenberg, TX and Elisha Renee Tillman; step-daughter, Denitra Harper; six sons, Elisha Tillman, III, Demarco Harper, Marques (Ondrea) Lewis and Bobby Lewis, all of Saginaw, Montelle (Melinda) Lewis, Wylie, TX and Desmond Tillman, Battle Creek, MI; nine grandchildren, A'Kirra and A'Nyia Anderson, Rosenberg, TX, Desmond Tillman, Jr., Battle Creek, MI, Quemont, Criveshaon, Elisha IV and Sharde Tillman, Terris Harper and Devin Chaney all of Saginaw; two sisters, Leola Whittington, Saginaw, MI, Delphine Martin, Lancaster, TX; four brothers, Raymond (Herdicine) Booze, Vicksburg, MS, Howard (Carmen) Davis, Roy (Carolyn)Tillman and Sheldon Tillman, Atlanta, GA; mother-in-law, Rosie Lee Lewis, Saginaw, MI; four sisters-in-law, Charlie Mae (Johnny) Gray, Saginaw, MI, Wilma Wirrick, Linda (Robert) Wilson, Cecelia (Everett) Rolling, Fresno, TX; brother-in-law, Larry R. Lewis, Saginaw, MI; uncle, Tommy Davis, Saginaw; special cousins, Alice Smith, Chicago, IL and Rev. James Nelson, Saginaw, MI; special nieces and nephews, Sparkle Tillman, Lancaster, TX, James Tippins, Jr., Jamar Stewart and Nikiwia Lewis all of Saginaw, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Tillman.
