Pastor Emeritus Bobbie E. Price

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: II Timothy 4:7 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints. Superintendent Bobbie Eugene Price, Sr. at the age of 86, of Saginaw, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 4, 2015. Superintendent Price was born in Holly Bluff, Mississippi, to the late Albert and Margaret Price. He gave his life to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 32, under the leadership of Bishop B. S. Lyles. Superintendent Price, in 1970, along with his late wife, Miss’y Rosie Price, founded New Fellowship C.O.G.I.C.; now known as Greater New Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. He was blessed to travel to the Holy Land in Israel twice during his ministry. Superintendent Price was one of the founding Pastors of North Central Jurisdiction in 1975. He was appointed as the first Mission Department President of North Central Jurisdiction by Bishop H. J. Williams. He also served as Superintendent of the Fellowship District and Administrative Assistant, for the Saginaw area under Bishop H. J. Williams. Superintendent Price sponsored a City-Wide Fast Day, which was proclaimed by the mayor of Saginaw on July 29, 1985. Once his health began to fail him he requested to be emeritized as Superintendent in May of 2010, and as pastor in December 2012. He was truly a man of God, who walked humbly in his footsteps. Superintendent Price was a hard worker before he retired from the Grey Iron Foundry General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 668. Superintendent Price remained God fearing throughout his life, while practicing what he taught. On a daily basis, he continued to strengthen his faith in God by studying the Word of God. He was known for his prestige and leadership. His presence alone was enough for others around him to feel strengthened, empowered and have positive energy. Superintendent Price was the 6th of 15 children. He loved to travel and go riding with his family, who also knew him as “Dah,” “Daddy” and “Pa.” Superintendent Price married his beautiful wife, Rosie Mae Young, in 1961, who went home to be with the Lord in 2004. They had four children, Barbara A. Roberson, Carol Walker (Daryl), Robin Price and Bobby Price, Jr.; two brothers, Marion Price of Memphis, TN and Ewell Price of Saginaw, MI; five sisters-in-law, Hessie and Rosie Price, Pearly Johnson, Elizabeth Brumfield and Ernestine Martin; two brothers-in-law, Leonard and Clarence Montgomery; 10 grandchildren, two that he raised as his own, Gerald Walker and Sharnae Price, Donald, Donyell, DonNece and Donae Patrick, Alnisha Jackson, Akima and Mackiah Price and Daryl Currington, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Daveona, Gerald III, Ladonna, Gervontae, Amariona and Andre; special friends, Ronnie Tate, Vivian Casey-Carr and Donald Patrick, Sr. and all of his caregivers, including Bridget and Izasha; a host of other family and friends. Superintendent Price was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosie Price; mother and father, Albert and Margaret Price; 11 siblings, Henry, Albert, Leroy, Cornelius, Jerry, D.J. and Peter Price, Henrine Price, Reola Dent, Leola Murphy and Jearline Johnson; one grandson, Stone Roberson; two sons-in-law, Gerald Walker, Sr. and Edd Roberson; special friend and brother-in-law, Johnnie Johnson. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 Greater Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C., 608 E. Remington St., Bishop J. Drew Sheard will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will take place Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his church Greater New Fellowship C.O.G.I.C., 1421 Veterans Memorial Pkwy., from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
