Mr. Enoch Harris

The Rock of Our Family whose Anchor was in Jesus Christ, Mr. Enoch Harris, died January 8, 2024 at the age of 98 years. Mr. Harris was born in Ferriday, Louisiana to Frank Harris and Alberta Reed. He was married to Juanita Harris for 53 years. She preceded him in death in 2006. Mr. Harris worked for Saginaw Chevrolet Metal Casting Plant, GM Corp. for 31 years and was a member of UAW Local 668. Yet, he most enjoyed reading, studying the bible, planning and completing home projects especially with his granddaughter, Shantel. He also enjoyed watching football, working puzzles, and spending time with his family especially his great-great-grandson, Rashad Harris and his great-great-granddaughter, Jaise Woods. He also loved talking with his sister, Alberta Henderson in Louisiana. Mr. Enoch Harris leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jeffrey D. Harris, Saginaw; grandchildren, Jeffrey Harris, Jr., Shantel Harris, Eric Collins, Sr. and Ashia Tinsley, all of Saginaw, Dwayne and Denise Eiland, both of Hawaii, Ann Travis and Taheerah Brown, both of Grand Rapids, MI; many great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; other relatives including his extended family and friends, Brenda Payton and Family, Lenora Webb, Ms. Ringold, Mrs. Foster, Ms. Powell, Minister DJ Price and family, Mrs. Odessa Caver and the Chaney family. Mr. Enoch Harris was also preceded in death by his son, Frank Harris; granddaughter, Shauntel Harris-Jenkins; parents, Frank Harris and Alberta Reed; brother, Henry Harris. A very special thank you to the Chaney family, Healthsource-Saginaw, Nurses and CNA’s who provided exceptional care and love during this time. Thank you Gretchen, Monica and Jasmine, special acknowledgement to Shantel Harris who was his caregiver, Yolanda Liles and Randle at A & D Hospice Care. God Bless Each of You! Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 N. 6th St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
