Ms. Estell McGlothin

Estell McGlothin was born in Canifield, Arkansas the daughter of Luscious and Hester (Tasby) Marshall on August 26, 1930. She passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Ms. McGlothin attended School in Canfield, Arkansas. She and her former husband, Robert McGlothin “Slim”, they were blessed with six McGlothin Children: Gloria, Robert, Shirley Ann, Willie Earl, Billy Ray and Debra Ann. Five children preceded her in death. As a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan, being strong willed, independent, sociable, funny and a disciplinarian, she became employed at Paxton Oil Company in 1965, and later at Saginaw Parts Plant and Flint Engine Plant, General Motors Corp. She retired in 1991. She was a faithful member of New Galilee Full Gospel Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching Walker Texas Ranger and The Young and The Restless. To cherish many memories, Estell leaves one daughter, Kaamilya (Gloria) Allateef, Saginaw and SPC Karon McKinley, Ft. Bliss, TX; 11 grandchildren, Deatte and Darrell McGlothin both of Saginaw, Rita McGlothin, Atlanta, GA, Stephany Pruitt, Ypsilanti, Mi, Ameer Allateef, Kallispell, MT, Bilal Allateef, Lansing, MI, Samir Allateef, Saginaw, Deandre Meeks, Chicago, IL, Aubrey Allen III, Saginaw, Aubrean Allen, Waldorf, MD and Mariano Rosales, Saginaw; great-grandchidren, Marcel McGlothin, Tanisha Pruitt, Aubrion Allen, Jr., Aubrey Allen IV, Anaya Allen, Aaliyah, December, Alyssa, Ameera, Alisha, Aries and Ameer Allateef, Jr., one sister, Lillie Pearl Bookman, Dallas, TX; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, LM Marshall, Dallas, TX, two nieces, Beverly (Pastor Herbert) Morris and Lynette Bookman- Lakes, Dallas, TX, many other relatives and friends including Tina Carruth, Eula Cameron, Morgan Carter, Mike Burks, the Burrell family of Detroit, MI, Evans’ and Buell families, Saginaw, and the McGlothin family, Musgekon, MI. Estell was also preceded in death by her parents, Lucius and Hester Tasby-Marshall; sisters, Rodessa Johnson, Annie B Grant, Lula Mae Marshall and Dorothy Mae Sassy, brothers, James Andrew Lewis and James Lewis; son, Aubrey Allen, Sr.; grandson, Robert McGlothin, Jr.; nieces, Karen Ann Marshall and Mae Ella Johnson; nephews, Hosea Marshall and Alfred Robinson. The family would like to express special thanks to First State Home and Hospice, Nurse Shelly and Dr. Sarkodie. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 818 N. Washington Street, Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Robert Davis, Jr., Host Pastor and Pastor Herbert Morris, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
