Mr. Eugene William Long

Mr. Eugene William Long (G Works) was born September 24, 1987 in Saginaw, Michigan to Mary Long and Keith Poe. He passed away in Saginaw on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 unexpectedly at home at the young age of 31 years. Eugene went to Saginaw Public Schools and was previously employed by Wendy’s. He loved playing the game and listening to music. Eugene was funny, always telling jokes, and making people laugh. He enjoyed dancing (Hitting it), detailing cars and going to the casino. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man with the great big smile who always put his family first. He loved everybody that he encountered. To know him, was to love him. Mr. Long leaves to cherish his memory, his very devoted companion, Sheena Evans; four daughters, Vaeh, A’Niyla, Eunique and ANariay; one son, Eugene William Long, Jr.; five sisters, Arleen, April, Ashley Long, KeAngela McGee and Briana Cunningham; one brother, John Shabazz,; five nieces, Shaniqua, Uniqua, Lenteisha, Chardonnay, Iyana and Kori; three nephews, Jayon, Courtney and Isaiah; a great-niece, Kaitlyn; great-nephews, Kaiden and Keith; aunts, Ethel, Carline Long and Leann (Charles) Donald; uncles, Warren, Wilfred (Brenda) Long and Narvel Long; very special cousins who were like a brother, Tracey and De’Marco Scarbrough; a host of many other relatives and friends including Keith Bulger, Derrick and Kenny Phoenix, David General, Bobby and DeAngelo Kelley, Jimyll Jackson, Robbie Cotton, Anthony Stephens, Sharon Newton Tinsley, Cortney Simon, Tecorie Blackmon, Reg Gloss and Mark Nelse Robinson; his extended family, the Donalds and Evans. Eugene was preceded in death by his mother Mary Louise Long, sister, Suzie Long; grandparents, Arie Jones and Jerry Long; his dog, Khalee; aunts, Mary Neil and Lorraine Long; uncles, Willie, Roscoe Long, Cecil and Wenfred Long; cousin, Lee, Matthew, Lela, Lloyd and Wardine, and a close friend, Stacy Evans. Family hour will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Wolverine State Baptist Headquarters, 615 South Jefferson Avenue., Saginaw, MI 48601 with funeral commencing at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Elvin Owens will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
