Mrs. Frances Lee Murry

Deaconess Frances Lee Murry lived by the scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” On Monday, April 18, 2016 at the age of 67 years, the Lord directed our beloved to come home with Him in heaven. Frances was born April 29, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Robert and Josephine Jenkins. She was saved at an early age and never lost her zeal for God. She met Willie L. Murry in Louisiana at the tender age of 17. The two were married on February 7, 1974 and shared 42 years of marriage. They loved each other immensely. The two moved to Saginaw, MI and became employed at General Motors, and after 30 years of faithful service at Saginaw Steering Gear Div. Frances retired in 2002. She was a charter and lifelong member of Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for many years under the leadership of the late Pastor Harold Gates. She also served in various ministries as an Usher, Deaconess and on the Mission Board. Sister Murry loved her church family, Pastor Robert Davis, Jr. and First Lady Davis. She had a very special relationship with Pastor Davis, whom she affectionately called Bob. Mrs. Murry leaves to cherish many precious memories, her husband, Deacon Willie Murry; four children, Anthony Jenkins of Shreveport, LA, Willie (CoCo) Murry of Winnsboro, LA, Murylee (Chris) Solomon of Jonesboro, GA and Marvin (Cynthia) Murry of Waterford, MI; five siblings, Jerry (Sheila) Jenkins of Monroe, LA, Diane (Elijah) Henderson and Nolan Jenkins both of Gilbert, LA, Alice (Garrett) O’Steen and Robert Jenkins, Jr., both of Monroe, LA; brothers-in-law, John (Doris) Murry of Saginaw, MI, Johnny Ray of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Richard) Jones of Tennessee, Lynn Murry of Detroit, MI; aunt, Ethel Munson of Gilbert, LA; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; god-children; nieces; nephews; cousins including special cousin Beatrice Brooks and friends including her beautician of over 30 years, Felissia Thomas, Mother Eldredge, Mother Taylor, Velma Roach, Shirley Jones, Lozella Harris and Josephine Ray, whom her grandchildren lovingly called, “The Crew.” Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Josephine Jenkins; mother-in-law, Murye Lee Murry; siblings Victoria Turner, Mattie Thomas, Mildred Hollis, Edmond Jenkins, and grandson, Terrance Jenkins. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, 818 North Washington Avenue with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Robert Davis, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016 at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Abundant Life Evangelistic Ministries, 150 Guice Road, Winnsboro, Louisiana. Pastor Cedric Rollins will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery, Oakland Cemetery Road, Gilbert, LA 71336.
