Georgia Henry

Passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Holy Communion Gospel Center, 1245 E. Genesee, with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Browne's Mortuary, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Henry passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the age of 82 years. She was born August 5, 1925 in Darlove, MS. She moved to Michigan in 1957. Georgia was a member of Holy Communion Gospel Center and fellowshipped at Kingdom Life Ministries. She worked for the Morley family as a domestic for 30 years, the Salvation Army Eventide Nursing Home for 8 years and Saginaw High School for 11 years. She was a mother to the community, known as "Mother Henry". She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Reta Roby of Flint, MI, Fay (Charles) Byrd of Saginaw, MI and Lois Murray of Vero Beach, FL; one special son, Otis Washington of Saginaw, MI; 13 grandchildren, Joseph (Vickie) Cage, Dennis (Sherry) Bentley, Johnny Cage III, Marvin Henry, Samuel Hickman, David Henry, Dora "Kim" (Preston) Edwards of Phoenix, AZ, Sabrena Henry, Donyell Cage, Jerod Roby, John Wade Allen, Patrick Murray and Maurice Murray; 27 great-grandchildren, Ebony Donald Kelso, Jemar Rozier, Courtney Roy, Tanae Cage, Donald Tolbert, BreAnna Reid, LaJoyce Cage, DeVonte Reid, Gregory Reid, Jr., Ke'Osha Jamieson, Salena Brown, Whitley Henry, Devon Zink, Breanna Henry, Lisa Henry, Danniqua Bentley, James Shelton, Davale Stokes, Joshua Henry, Cordairo Bentley, Amondre Bentley, Javion Roby, Jayla Roby, Dominic Luther, Shawn Blanton, Ezekiel Henry and Samantha Blanton; one great-great-grandchild, Jada Kelso; two sisters, Annette (Ulish) Watson of Saginaw, MI and Charlene Daniel of Washington, DC; one brother, N.R. "Richard" Calhoun of Orange County, CA; special brother-in-law, Ulish Watson whom she loved dearly, special son-in-law, John Roby; two special friends, Rosie Conway and Marie Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughy Henry; three daughters, Joyce Cage, Patricia Hickman and Leda Henry; two grandsons, Allen Henry and Donte Brown and her mother and father.
