Deacon Howard McFadden

Howard McFadden was born August 3, 1942 in Evans County, Georgia the son of Henry Roberson and Sallie Mae Kirkland Stewart. He passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Howard graduated from Monroe High School in Cocoa Florida. Howard was one of the original first black policemen in the city of Claxton, Georgia. He was a Mail Carrier in Claxton, operated and drove semi-trailer. Upon moving to Saginaw, MI, Howard worked at Delphi for 35 years before retiring. He was known for laying carpet down, driving his charter bus and plowing snow to service other in the community. Howard loved going to church to sing, praise and worship the Lord and to be surrounded by his church family. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lafayette Simpson, where he served on the Deacon Board, Superintendent of Sunday School and Assistance Treasurer. Howard loved to hunt, as he would often share memories of hunting dogs treeing his pray, he loved to fish and would invite anyone to join him on his boat to show off his skills. Howard loved to travel as he and Katie would have no limits to their destination. Some of his proudest moments were to take Katie to Church Hills Downs and be among the crowd at Kentucky Derby. Howard love to travel and watch his son, Kenny play basketball and holding his first granddaughter Ke’Aundra at birth in the palm of one hand. Mr. Howard McFadden leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Katie McFadden of Saginaw, MI; three sons, William (Sherry) McFadden, Ronnie Boggs, Sr and Tony Boggs Sr.; step-daughter, Nikki Jones; grandchildren, Shetelia, Ronnie, Jr., QueOntae (Malanie), DaVonte and NKarra; including special grandchildren, Ke’Aundra, AJ, K’Telia, LaDavia; great-grandchildren, Amir “AJ”, AuBri, Jordan, KeTelia, LaDavia, Jade, Jasper, Ronnie III, Jaden, Ty’sheid, Laron, DIO’HR, JaVoni; one sister, Christine Roberson; four brothers, Samuel (Juanita) McFadden, Charles (Gwen) Stewart, Pearlie and Gregory Stewart; sisters-in-law, Nancy (John) Cody, Betty Boggs and Bernadette Magee; four brothers-in-law, Willie (Shirley), Bobbie, (James (Sandra) and Johnny Boggs; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; nieces, nephews, other relatives including special nieces and nephews, Jarod, (Shannon), Greg (Vera), Paulette, and Crystal a host of special friends including Charlie Baskins, Taylor, (Loretta) Webb and Curtis Moore. Mr. McFadden was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Roberson and Sallie Mae Kirland Stewart; step-father, William Stewart; grandson, Jacquelle; uncle, Caleb McFadden; aunt, LuGenia Stafford McFadden; sisters, Queen Lundy, Mary Haynes and Jessie Roberson; brothers, Thomas, Paul and David McFadden, Alton Griffin, Willie and Vincent Stewart and Thomas Roberson; mother and father-in-law, Vinnie and Lester Boggs; sisters-in-law, Doris Boggs and Linda Stewart. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3309 Bundy St., Saginaw, ,MI 48601. Pastor Lafayette Simpson will officiate with interment Mt.
