Mr. James McCoy III

James McCoy III, our precious son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend passed away quietly on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, Washington at 47 years of age. He was born January 9, 1977 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of James McCoy II and LaRissa Johnson McCoy. He was the most loving person you would ever meet. James was devoted to loving his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He was full of integrity, joy, and he enjoyed music, especially Aretha Franklin. He was a kind-hearted and compassionate person who was always sharing his caring nature with all, especially his family. He served faithfully as a team leader in retail for over 20 years. He leaves to forever cherish his loving spirit, his sister LaNesha McCoy DeBardelaben of Seattle, WA; brother, Trevon Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; two uncles, Anderson (Yolanda) Johnson of Portage, MI and Brian (Belinda) Johnson of Saginaw, MI; aunts, Allison (Donald) Jennings of North Little Rock, AR, Debra Johnson of Saginaw, MI, Rev. Florene Queen-Frierson of Little Rock, AR, Mattie (Melvin) Patterson of Steubenville, OH and Bertha Smith of Bridgeton, MO; cousins, Lynetta (Lionel) Kidd of Frisco, TX, Toni Michelle (Isaiah) Davis of Richmond, VA, Melody (Marcus) Ponder of Haslet, TX, LaKendra Butler of Richmond, VA, Michael Johnson of Portage, MI and Brandon Johnson, Saginaw, MI; special family friend, Cynthia Bell of Saginaw, MI; aunts, uncles, other special cousins and friends all whom he loved dearly. Mr. James McCoy III was preceded in death by his mother, LaRissa Johnson; father, James McCoy II; grandmother, Melvina Boose Evans; uncle, Michael Johnson; aunts, Lucille Larry, Geneva Bardoni, Mary Frances Evans, Ann Thompson and Rosie Walker, special cousin, Candice Johnson; his friend, Tara Wilson; including other dear relatives. His beloved grandmother, Gaylua Y. Johnson whom he loved dearly passed away one week after James. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Harborview Hospital and Dr. Grant Fletcher of Seattle. Celebration of Life Service to be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Rev. LaNesha DeBardelaben will officiate.
