Mr. James "Ten Speed" Robinson

Surrounded by family, our beloved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2025, at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI. James H. Robinson was born on September 4, 1946, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to the late Walter and Sadie Chase Robinson. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Arc, AR. James graduated from Biscoe High School in 1966 and “caught the first thing smoking” from Des Arc to Saginaw, MI. James had a successful career with General Motors, at the Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant where he retired with over thirty years of service. After retiring from General Motors, James volunteered in several capacities within the Buena Vista School District and worked for the Saginaw County Commission on Aging, delivering meals to senior citizens in the community. James was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher board, transportation, and kitchen ministries. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to music, helping people and detailing and showcasing his automobiles. His memory will be cherished by his brother, Welton (Mary Ann) Robinson of Des Arc, AR; sisters, Linda Smith of Saginaw, MI and Shirley (Eloskia) Bradley of Bridgeport, MI; brothers-in-law, Leo Ford and Willie Eggleston, both of Saginaw, MI; aunt, Emma Berry of Des Arc, AR; nieces, Beverly Ford of Saginaw, MI, TawannaWilkerson of Waldorf, MD, Toquata Tappin of Little Rock, AR, Shaneigh Robinson of Sherwood, AR, DeAngelia (Shawn) Huggins of Mooresville, NC, and Calisa Robinson of Memphis, TN; nephews, Melvin Duane (Joleah) Shaw of Iowa City, IA, Jason Robinson of Detroit, MI, Corey Robinson of Des Arc, AR, Leodis Ford, Marquis Smith and Eric (Chloe) Eggleston of Saginaw, MI; bonus nieces and nephew, Priscilla Ford, Stephanie Ford, Freda McCombs, all of Saginaw, MI and Pastor Dequan Ford of Grand Blanc, MI; special friend, Catherine Goodman and Josie Couch; and a host of additional relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his grandparents Linsie Jane and Walter Robinson and Lige and Amanda Chase. Sisters Lilia Ford, Delois Eggleston, Elizabeth Robinson, and JoAnne Robinson. Brothers Roy Lee, Calvin and Gene Ellis Robinson. Aunts Margie Chase Dean, Oretha Mims, Willie Robinson, Alice Williams and Annie Holloway. Uncles Charlie Robinson, Aught Robinson, Jim Chase, and Louis Chase. Niece Tonya Robinson, great nephews DaNerryen Spencer and Deon Clark and great, Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 N. 6th Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Joshua Daniels, Pastor and Pastor DeQuan Ford will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
