Mr. James Howard Thomas

Mr. James H. Thomas was born August 16, 1942 in Crittendon, Arkansas to Marvella Thomas and Thomas Key, Jr., he departed this life on December 1, 2016 at the age of 74 years. James was educated in Saginaw, MI and was raised by a wonderful grandmother, Beatrice Thomas. She nurtured and instilled a strong work ethic in him. He married on February 26, 1963 and from that union three children were born, Crispin Ashley, Corbin Amiel and Carcame James Thomas; he also had another son, James Spear. When James was a young man, he loved to dance. He spent many hours enjoying the Motown hits from the 60’s and 70’s. He loved to travel and he took his family on many vacations. They were able to visit more than half of the United States and many Providences in Canada. James Thomas was a hard worker as an industrial electrician retiring from Central Foundry Division of General Motors and was a member of Amalgamated Local 455 in Saginaw, MI. He was a man of pride; his most cherished accomplishments were the acquisition of his present home which provided a place for his children and grandchildren to run and explore the woods. He enjoyed taking walks along his pond and fishing with his grandchildren. James believed in God and read his bible, his favorite scriptures are recorded in Ecclesiastes 5:18 and II Thessalonians 3:10. Later in life on November 11, 2002, Mr. Thomas married Hazel Penerion and they were married for 14 years. James also leaves to miss him and cherish his memory, three sisters, Valerie, Jeraline Foster and Ruby Hurd; two nieces, Tokilla and Kashira Foster; five nephews, Shelby Hurd, Curtis Foster, Jr., Theophilus and Kenyatta Foster, and Anthony Key; three aunts, Lillian Holmes, Cora Bell Taylor and Dorothy Moore; a numerous number of cousins, a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Key, Jr. and Marvella Thomas; grandmother, Beatrice Thomas; Louis and Vernice Thomas. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Joshua's Way Ministries, 3480 Broadway Street. Minister Lerone Clement will officiate. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
