Mr. John Wade

Mr. John Robert Wade, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend went to be with the Lord at the age of 73 years on Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born on January 21, 1943 in Greenwood, Mississippi, the son of Bennie and Alice Wade. John retired from Grey Iron Foundry after 30 years of service and was a member of Local 668. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. John accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Corinthian Baptist Church. Mr. John Robert Wade leaves to cherish his memory, his caring and devoted wife of 50 years, Lela Wade; three daughters, Regenia Wade of Chesapeake, VA, Wanda Jackson and Della Wade, both of Saginaw, MI; son, John Robert Wade, Jr. of Detroit, MI; two grandsons, Kent (Tierra) Jackson and Levarhyus Jackson of Saginaw, MI; great-granddaughter, Meih’Lynn Jackson; five sisters-in-law, Leona Davis, of Garland, TX, Celia Martin, Gloria Blackmon, Joyce O’Daniel, all of Saginaw, MI and Marie Diane Blackmon of Grand Rapids, MI; six brothers-in-law, Spencer Blackmon of Saginaw, MI, Ronald Williams of Bay City, MI, Randall & James (Joyce) Williams, both of Grand Rapids, MI, Roy and Ennix Blackmon, both of Dallas, TX; two aunts, Leola Griffin and Florence Jones; five uncles, Henry, Roy, Sam, Wilbert Wade, all of St. Louis, MO and David Wade of Chattanooga, TN; special friends, Clarence Frazier, Jr., Robert & Exie Robinson and Ursula St. Clair, who was John’s nurse manager for the past seven years. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Marilyn Wade; great-granddaughter, Milani Kennadi Jackson; parents, Bennie and Alice Wade; grandparents, Dave & Mary Wade; grandmother, Della Wilson; four uncles, Earnest, Lou Vell, Fess Wade and Otis Wilson; eight aunts, Emma, Mary Lee, Julia Mae, Dorothy, Carnelius, Lula, Katie and Luvenia Lymon. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 Corinthian Baptist Church, 104 South 10th Street, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Roy Manning officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - until time of service.
