Mrs. Joy Lisa Tucker

Mrs. Joy Lisa Tucker, affectionately known as Lisa, was born July 5, 1959, in Saginaw, MI., to Alvin & Ida Tyler. Lisa, a current resident of Las Vegas, NV went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2024, at UMC Hospital Las Vegas. Before relocating to Las Vegas, Lisa was a long-time resident of Saginaw, MI where she was a faithful member of Corinthian Baptist Church. She loved her church family, working with the Youth Choir and serving diligently. As forementioned, Lisa was born and raised in Saginaw, MI, where she attended Bridgeport Schools. In 1977, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, and by God’s grace and love, they shared over 46 years of love, devotion and commitment. Lisa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She certainly loved living life to the fullest and lit up every room she entered with her beautiful smile, one-of-a-kind personality and infectious laugh. Lisa had a genuine love for her family (including her church family) and enjoyed spending time with those she loved. She also enjoyed traveling, comedy shows, crab legs, attending church, and most importantly, spoiling those grandbabies! Her legacy and memory will certainly live on. Lisa leaves in God’s care, her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Deacon Oliver “OT” Tucker; 2 children: son, Toriano (Tamara) Tucker of Saginaw, MI and daughter, Rachida Tucker of Las Vegas, NV; God-daughter, Makayla Thomas of Saginaw, MI.; God-Son, Denzel Lyons of Atlanta, GA; 8 grandchildren: Torion Tucker-Buckley and Jayla Tucker-Phillips of Las Vegas, NV; Alonzo, Arissis, Anthony, Tamayah and Kathryn Simmons, all of Saginaw, MI.; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Alvin (Yolanda) Tyler of Las Vegas, NV; Warren Scott Tyler of Saginaw, MI; sister-in-law, Deborah Bullock of Saginaw, MI; brother-in-law, Rodney (Armelda) Tucker of O’Fallon, MO; 3 aunts, Betty (Calvin) Mayberry of Flint, MI, Mary Lee Trapp of Texas, Bethel Reeves of Santa Ana, CA; uncle, Douglas Garvins of Utah; special niece, Atosha Newsome; special cousin, Brenda Tucker; special friends, Diana Rockett and Sheryl Thomas. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Alvin & Ida Tyler; grandmothers, Virginia Pruitt and Inez Garvins; grandfather, Hubert Garvins; mother-in-law Barbara Tucker, granddaughter, Moneisha Simmons; nephew, Andrew Smith; 2 brothers-in-law, Lawrence & Aaron Smith; sister-in-law, Caren Hall. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Roy Manning, the Corinthian Baptist Church family and the abundance of family and friends that have traveled near and far to love on us with meals, beverages, supplies, arrangements, love and support. Your acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed. Family hour will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, 104 S. 10th St. Saginaw, MI 48601, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Roy Manning, officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until the time of service.
