Mrs. Julia Mae Morris

Julia departed this earthly life on January 18, 2023 at the age of 76 years. She was born on August 14, 1946 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida the daughter of Willie Beard and Julia Mae Marion Beard. Julia graduated from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Class of 1964 and later her family moved to Saginaw, Michigan where she attended Nursing School. She worked at Vlasic Pickle Company for ten years, Michigan Sugar in Bay City, MI for 15 years and Kenny Incorporated, Merrill, MI for eight years. She joined Coleman Temple Church of God In Christ where Pastor H.J. Coleman, Sr. served as pastor. In her later years she became a member of Life and Christ Ministries with Pastor Dennis Cotton, Sr. Julia loved attending church, church plays, loved her church family, cooking, travelling, and listening to gospel music; her all-time favorites, the Williams Brothers and Shirley Caesar. She enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives, Sanford and Son and Good Times, just to name a few. She loved watching her L.A. Lakers and the Detroit Lions. She always looked forward to her daily telephone talks with her sister Grace, and spending time with family. In her earlier years she really enjoyed playing cards and going fishing. Julia Mae Morris leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Renee (Beard) Jones, Plantation Florida; five sons, Vince (Stacy) Beard, Stoneham, MA, Demond Beard, Odessa, TX, Lavaras Morris and Demetrius (Roslyn) Morris, Saginaw, MI and Julius (Rachel) Beard, Las Cruces, MX; 15 grandchildren, Oliva (Sean) Rice, Wilmington, NC, Cameron Beard, Las Vegas, NV, Vanessa Beard, Sierra Jones, Plantation, FL, Lavareonce Morris-Toney, Kiara Morris-Toney, Karrie, Kamarei and Demarei Morris, all of Saginaw, Lucian and Beatrix Beard both of Las Cruces, MX, Sencere Washington of Minnesota, Dezire and Shanavire both of Saginaw and Dashira Jeffery, Odessa, TX; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Henton, Jr., Talulah, Zelda, Jack, Akyah Rose; one sister, Grace Davis, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; special friends, Larry Bates and Sam Hopper; special niece (like a daughter), Cecelia Davis-Griffin; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Kyser Morris; parents, Willie and Julia Beard, Sr.; three sisters, Sadie M. Davis, Amelia Smith and Melvina Corkers; four brothers, Robert and Frank Davis, Moses and Matthew Beard; special niece, Linda Bowes. The family would like to express a special thanks to Covenant Medical Center-Cooper ICU 7th floor nurses and doctors, 6th floor Comfort staff that played a part in Julia’s care and to Brian’s House in Essexville, MI. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m.on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p. m. Pastor Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, Michigan 48601.
