Mr. Larry Gordon

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Larry Allen Gordon gained his “Heavenly Wings” and went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 68 years. He was born on December 21, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Larry Gordon was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Buena Vista High School and transferred to Ss Peter and Paul High School. He gained a full academic scholarship in “Track and Field” from Aquinas College, he later transferred to Grand Canyon University. He achieved a Bachelor’s in Meteorology with a minor in Social Work. He pursued track in field for the Olympics for two years. Gordon later continued his career at the Saginaw Juvenile Detention Center for 28 years and Arthur Hill High School for 19 years. He made a positive impact on youth, he enjoyed uplifting the youth, playing basketball and spending time with his family. Larry will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly. He leaves to cherish memories and his legacy to his daughter and son, Alesia Gordon of Saginaw, MI and Lawrence Gordon of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Layden Moore and Siven Gordon; he also leaves to cherish many memories, four brothers, James, David and Carl Gordon and Lee Wallace; three sisters, Betty Haywood, Renail (Eual) Holman and Diane Tyler; special aunt, Ruthel Wilson; special friends, Michael Gerard, Angelous Gillory, Allen Smith, Terry Woodley, Willie Harvey and James Snead. Mr. Gordon joined the “Heavenly Gardens” with his mother, Dorothy Gordon; father, Joe Gordon; grandparents, Joe and Lula Mae Gordon; brothers, Joe Milton, Charles and Kim Gordon; sisters, Roberta Harrison, JoAnn Ezell and Sandra Holliday. The family would like to express special thank you to Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home, Deborah General, Aeriell Scott, Lisa Gordon and Renail Holman, honorable mention to Alonzo Betts and to the Probate Court. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor James Snead will officiate.
