Mr. Leslie Jackson

Leslie Howard Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan made a peaceful transition at home on December 9, 2021 at the young age of 77. He was born September 27, 1944 in New Willard, Texas, the son of Texola Ford & Leroy Jackson. After moving to Saginaw, Michigan with his mother, Leslie was educated in the Saginaw Public School system and upon graduation, joined the U.S. Navy where he was Honorably Discharged after serving 4 years. Upon return, Leslie became a dedicated employee of General Motors for 32 years and was an active member of UAW Local #699. Mr. Jackson, as he was affectionately known, had many hobbies such as working with Habitat for Humanity, donating to the Saginaw Rescue Mission, helping family and friends with home repairs and as many of you have memories of, taking his daily walks through the neighborhood with his stick. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his loving and devoted mate of 30+ years Audrey Redeemer, one son, Barraka (Jacqueline) Baber; one daughter, Africa Liles; 1 daughter-in-law, Sheila Baber; three grandchildren, Adonis Liles Sr, Layla Baber and David Baber; one great grandson, A.J. (Adonis Liles, Jr); two brothers, Herman (Avon) Bell, of Saginaw, MI and Hilton (Ann) Rodger, of Richmond, VA; five sisters, Carolyn (Melvin) Hall, Vera Scott, Jacqueline Stringer, all of Saginaw, MI, Hilta and Hilda Miles, both of Pineville, LA; special chosen children, Terrance (Brianna) Kellum, LaKeshia Kellum, Lacrecia (Terrance) Williams, Marquetta Carrol and Tamisha Carrol; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, including special cousins, Margie Jackson andCecil Jackson. Leslie was preceded in death by his eldest son, Leslie A. Baber, his granddaughter, Zaiah Liles; parents, Texola Ford and Leroy Jackson; and two brothers, Andrew Logan and D.S. “Big Jun” Logan. Funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at World Outreach Campus Church, 2405 Bay Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Pastor Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. will officiate. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607 on Friday from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
