Mrs. Lorraine Marie Conley

Sunday, September 11, 2022, our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lorraine Conley passed away surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine Conley was born August 22, 1934 to the late Tollie B. (Barnes) and Edward Hall, Sr. in Saginaw, Michigan where she attended Saginaw Public Schools, becoming a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. On March 29, 1958 she was joined in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life, Richard L. Conley. In her younger years, Lorraine worked as a teacher’s aide at Potter Elementary School; she had such a love for children. Also, she worked as a sales associate at Beverly’s Department Store. In addition to that, Sis. Lorraine loved music. Throughout the week and on Sunday’s she would direct the Children’s Choir, or play one of her many musical instruments for the Men’s Choir at Bethel AME Church. Bethel AME Church is where she served as a faithful member until her health began to fail. Though she was gifted to play several different instruments, her favorite instrument was her harmonica she never left home without it. Often, she would pull it out at any given moment to serenade her audience with her favorite song, “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”. Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ross (Susan) Conley, Ypsilanti, MI; her daughter, Helen (James) Livingston, Saginaw, MI; four granddaughters, Tyra Livingston, Warren, MI, Sahraya Livingston, Grand Blanc, MI, Taelor and Thailor Conley, Midland, MI; one great-grandson, Kaidence Livingston, Saginaw; two brothers, James Hall, Ypsilanti, MI and Bill (Alice) Cheseny, Sicklerville, NJ; three god-children, Seth Diggs, Jordan Rice and Tiffany Robbins; special friends, Leona Fisher, Gena Amos and Katie Robins, and a host of other family and friends. Mrs. Lorraine Conley was preceded in death by one sister, Netti Bell-McKenzie; seven brothers, Willie J. Elmore, Barnes Lee, Tellis, Wendall, Eddie B, and Edward Hall; two sisters-in-law, Latchie Washington-Chesney and Cora Conley; six brothers-in-law, Ellie, Robert, Bill, Earl, Clarence and William Conley; two very special friends, Eddy Washington and Ruthie Scott. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022, at New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church,3610 Russell St., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Jr., Host Pastor and Pastor Michael Washington will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
