Mr. Luther Vernell Myles III

Mr. Luther Vernell “Luke” Myles III was born on August 1, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan to the parents of Huere Lee Myles, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Parham) Myles. He passed away on February 16, 2024 at the age of 65 years. Luke was a man who enjoyed life and had a larger-than-life presence. He was all about family and had love and passion for all youth not just his children and grandchildren. He was also a good story teller leaving many friends and family with so many animated stories of these travels and misadventures. The community knew him as a jack of all trades. He was always a well-dressed man who didn’t need a special occasion to dress nice or wear a ring on each finger and gold chains around his neck. He was an artist, photographer, landscaper and enjoyed cooking up one of his delicious meals with a twist. He had a creative mind and always came up with one of his many business ideas which caused him to pursue a degree in business management. He had the spirit of a salesman. One of his biggest dreams was to own and operate a club like the Boom Boom Room just like Eddie Murphy in the movie Life. One of his favorite things to do was camping together with his children and young nieces and nephews and introducing them to the great-outdoors or, one of his many adventures. He definitely was a thrill seeker in his own right. His favorite car was the Cadillac, as he owned many, for he was a luxury car enthusiast. He also was a self-proclaimed numerologist. He embraced anyone who was in need and had a true heart for helping those less fortunate: while also advocating for improving the lives of prison inmates who were disabled and aging. Luke passed away on February 16, 2024 in Detroit, MI and left to cherish his memory his children, Tamaris Steward, Sr. (FieAnda Owens-Gray), Sophia (Ray) Hatchett, Chloe Reeves of Saginaw, MI and Saxdon Miller of Midland, Michigan; grandchildren, Tamareyon and Ta’Mya Steward, Taurence and Ta’Kiyah Hill and Jazmine Stone; great-grandchildren, Eiress Steward all of Saginaw; step-mother, Nellie McCulloh, Saginaw,; brother, Minister George Myles, Saginaw; sisters, Cynthia (Michael) Chaffer, Tracey Myles, Tanya (Terence) Myles-Wilson, Denise (Woodrow) Campbell, Vera “Shon” (Alvin) Pratt, Tabatha Dede McCulloh all of Saginaw and Tomicka McCulloh, Hopewell, VA; many nieces, nephews other relatives including special nephew, Marcus Myles, special cousin, Gregory Holmes and friends including special cousin, Gregory Holmes and friends including special friend Faye Steward. Mr. Luther Vernell Myles III was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Stone; granddaughter, Ta’Marea Steward; grandson, Tamaris “TJ’ Steward, Jr.; parents, Huere Myles, Sr. and Barbara Myles; sister, Sylvia Myles; brothers, Huere “Pete” Myles, Jr. and Jasper “Lee” Myles; grandparents, Luther II and Glanie Myles, Willie Blanch Williams and Gilbert Parham; sister-in-law, Dorothy Myles; special cousins, Cassandra and Belinda Wilson and Patricia Haulcy; special friend, Retha Stone; aunts, Mae Lee Myles, Dorothy Manual and Ruby Gaines. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441, North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Min.
