Mrs. Mae Pearl Robinson

Mae Pearl Robinson passed away September 6, 2022 while resting comfortably at her home. She was born the youngest of two daughters on December 20, 1934 to James Allen and Ella Miller in Stewart, Mississippi. Mae Pearl (Miller) and Clyde Robinson met at the age of 12 years old. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on May of 1953 (the same year Clyde was drafted into the U.S. Army) and they enjoyed 68 blissful years of marriage. After Clyde’s Honorable Discharge, they came to Saginaw, Michigan in 1955 with their son, Clyde Lavern Robinson. Pearl and Clyde’s family later grew to include three additional children, Sheryl Jean Robinson, Doyle Wayne Robinson, and Reginald Lloyd Robinson. From these offspring came 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Robinson. Mae Pearl led an honorable life as the CFO of two businesses, Robinson’s Auto Clinic and Xpress Mart which collectively prospered in the Saginaw community for 44 years. She became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1955 where she remained a faithful servant until she passed. She served several committees in the church, including the Nurse’s guild, and the Sunday School Ministry where she started as a Sunday School teacher and became Superintendent. Her passion was always working with young people. She leaves behind two thriving brothers-in-law, Frank Robinson, Jr. and Curtis Robinson; seven sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Robinson, LaDorris Saverson, Winthea Jean Robinson, Clara Robinson, Loyce Heffner, Dorothy Robinson and Helena Robinson; an extensive family of nieces, nephews, grand, great-grands, great-great-grands, church members and dear friends of whom she shared many beautiful memories. Mae Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Robinson; parents, James Allen and Ella Miller; one sister, Hazel Alston; six brother-in-law, Carl Alston, Eldridge, Earon and Clevion Robinson, Halbert Saverson and Eulice Heffner; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Carmen and Ludie Mae Robinson. The family of Mae Pearl Robinson would like to extend our loving thanks to our relatives and friends for their kind expression of concern and heartfelt sympathy during our time of bereavement. We extend our warmest thanks to Magie Mack, Odessa Caver and Willie Mae McKinney for their close friendship. A special thanks to the Visiting Nurses Association who played an instrumental role in mom’s care. Thank you to Mary Johnson for answering questions & supplying important medical supplies, and thanks so much Neenia Matungways for keeping us informed on what to anticipate with Mom’s expected prognosis while in hospice care, for your attention to detail & your kindness in attending to Mom’s spiritual needs. May God bless each & every one of you. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate. Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
