Mr. Marshall Ward

Mr. Marshall “Butch” Ward transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 4, 2022 in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 73 years. He was born on August 20, 1949 in Saginaw to the parents of John and Jacqueline Ward. Early in his life, one of Marshall’s most meaningful experiences during his journey through life was accepting Christ as his personal Savior. He joined Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Marshall received his formal education in the Saginaw Public School District which ultimately led to him receiving his diploma from Saginaw High School. As a young adult, Marshall understood the importance of hard work. He dedicated 33 years of his life to General Motors Corporation retiring from Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant. A fervent partner, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Marshall loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved listening to his favorite old and new school music, watching an old western movie or talking about his passion for cars. Marshall leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong partner of 50 years, Irma Turner; sons, DeSean and Montel Turner; granddaughters, Shayla (Tracy) Sanders, SaBre Turner and Ambrielle Harrison; grandson, Nehmann Turner; great-grandchildren, Kailen, Traci, Deontae and D’Lasia; one sister, Delphine McMillan-Hopkins; two brothers, James (Ola) McMillan and Craig Ward; aunt, Patricia “TC” Lloyd, all of Saginaw, MI Carol Williams of Detroit, MI, Vivian and Atlanta Thompson, both of Saginaw, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Marshall Ward was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jacqueline and John Ward; grandparents, Arthur and Datie Thompson; brothers, Willie Smith and Tyson (Tunia) Ward; mother-in-law, Minnie Mae Clayton; aunt, Audrey Thompson; uncles, Arthur, Jerome and Sydney Thompson and special friends, Bobbie and Leroy Turner. Funeral service 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Vincent McMillon will officiate with interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
