Mrs. Mary Martin-Harrison

Mrs. Mary E. Martin Harrison was born April 19, 1941 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was blessed to be the eldest daughter of Minnie Bell and David Tate. Mary passed away at the age of 82 years. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend to all who knew her. To know her, was to love her. When Mary walked into the room, that’s when the “party started” and you were almost guaranteed to hear her signature saying, “Ayeeee”!! Her joy for life knew no bounds. Mary became a resource for family stories and information. She embodied a youthful and energetic spirit throughout her life. Her cooking and love of helping others are legendary. Mary always had a way of laughing through everything that made others feel seen and loved. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 50 plus years, Leroy Harrison, Saginaw, MI; daughter, Cheryl Brantley (Michael), Decatur, GA; son, James (Steve) Crawford, Saginaw; three step-daughters, Deidra Harrison, Saginaw, MI, Joanna Harrison, Kennesaw, GA and Charlotte Thompson, Saginaw, MI; two step-sons, Leroy Harrison II, Washington, DC and Deon Harrison, Saginaw, MI; granddaughter, LaJoya Brantley, Covington, GA; grandson, Donnis Jackson, Saginaw; two sisters, Daisy Demerson, San Antonio, TX and Gloria Tate Reed, Dallas, TX; three brothers, James L. Tate, Saginaw, MI, Jesse L. Tate (Lynette) Nashville, TN and Corey Broxton (Junetta), Saginaw; MI; a host of loving sisters and brothers-in-law; special god-daughter, Nicole Welch (Curtis Charlotte, NC, numerous of adored nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Mary E. Martin Harrison was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael R. Brantley, Jr.; parents, Minnie B. and David Tate; siblings, Nathaniel A., Andrew L. and Minnie L. Godfrey; niece, Satrina V. Tate; step-daughters, Betty Alford and Vicky Adderley. The family would like to express special thanks to all the family and friends for their prayers and condolences during this time. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Corey Broxton will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m.
