Mr. Melvin Edmond

Mr. Melvin Louis Edmond was born in Grenada, Mississippi the son of William and Mattie (Talbert) Edmond on March 1, 1953. He passed away on March 31, 2021 at the age of 68 years. Melvin graduated from Grenada High School in Granada, Mississippi. He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. After 32.5 years of dedicated service, he retired from General Motors Corporation where he was a member of UAW Local 467. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting and grilling. He loved going to his grandkids sporting events and spending time with family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Diane Edmond, Saginaw, MI; six daughters and two sons, Shundalon Edmond, Gregory L. (Lisa) Edmond, Annitra Edmond, Lakeyshia Magee Dobbins (Lamar) of Detroit, MI, Tynesha Henry, Synesha Hayes, both of Florida, Oliver (Florence Renee) of Georgia and Shakura (Toy) Pickett of Saginaw MI; grandchildren, Da’Manan Johnson, Yia Hayes, Ke’aira Jordan, Ameir Pickett, Bryce, Kendra, Kaylu, Samiah, Kendrez, KJ, Kaylin, Kai, Alajsha and Oliya; great-grandchildren, Reign Marie Favorite; god-son, Nook-Holmes; mother, Mattie Edmond; sisters, Vera (Ron)Mack and Anita Edmond; one brother, Philander Edmond; mother-in-law, Magalene McIntyre; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Magee, Wanda (Mike) Anderson, Tijuana (Addison) Burton, Patricia (John) Hayes, Angela (Tim) Miller and Kimberly Chatman; brothers-in-law, Mike (Nina) Magee, John McIntyre, Phillip (Ljuanyka) Cook and James Cook; a host of nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews, Rochelle Wright, Reginald Mack, Walter and James Magee, Jr. and Andre Jackson, many other relatives and friends including special friends, Willie Buchanan, Windell Smith, Michael Coombs, Willie James, Willie Beck, James Magee, Robert Magee, Big Jim and Gentry Smith, Charles “Moon” Magee and Maxie Roby. Mr. Edmond was preceded in death by father, William Edmond; sisters, Anita and Michelle; father-in-law, Leffie Magee and sister-in-law, LaQuenza. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Christ Image Community Church, 5501 Gratiot Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48638. Pastor Eugene Burton will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 4844s. Visitation will take place Friday, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. April 16, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607.
