Mr. Michael Chapman

Michael Chapman was born July 3, 1954 to Roosevelt and Zelma Chapman in Saginaw, Michigan where he lived all of his life. He passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the age of 64 years. He was employed by Chevy Manufacturing-GM where he retired. After retirement, he became an entrepreneur as an associate with Legal Shield. Michael accepted the Lord at an early age where he exemplified his commitment to Christ by serving for 19 years as a Deacon, Minute Man Security, and the Sunday School Superintendent for 13 years at Victorious Believers Ministries. He then transitioned to Burning Bush International Ministries where he served as a Deacon. His dedication to Sunday School did not go unnoticed. Michael labored as Local and Jurisdictional Superintendent of Sunday School for Michigan Southwest 5th Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Don W. Shelby Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sheila Chapman of 16 years, together they have 5 children, Lafontaine Chapman, Lachella Chapman, Deantoine Chapman, Tia Travis and Tasha (Corey) Ingram; they also have seven grandchildren and one godson, LeAndra, Chloe, Alexander, Cameron, Arianna, Kylen, MaKinley and Shawn Jr. Michael has 3 siblings, Roosevelt (Dorothy) Chapman Jr, Kathy Chapman and Sandra Chapman as well as a host of aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela (Wayne) Robbins, Norella Barnes, Theresa Jackson, Joyce Barnes, Ettienne "Tina" (Tyrone) Walker, Milton (Lyn) Barnes, Derle Barnes and Mark (Mary) Barnes, and cousins. He also leaves to cherish his memory his Legal Shield family, VBM family and Burning Bush Family. He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Roosevelt Chapman; mother, Zelma Chapman; and brother, Vincent Price. The family would like to express special thanks to U of M staff, Cardiovascular-Dr. McGlothin, Pulmonary Hypertension staff and Dr. Margaret Salzburg, Neurology staff and Dr. Larry Morgan, Family Physician-Dr. Mohammed Ali and AHHC Therapeutic staff. Family hour 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Victorious Believers Ministries C.O.G.I.C, 624 South Outer Drive, Saginaw, MI 48601 with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m., Elder Christopher V. Pryor, Host Pastor and Bishop Don W. Shelby, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
