Mr. Michael Anthony Crisp

Michael Anthony Crisp was born June 20, 1964 in Saginaw, Michigan to James W. Crisp, Sr. and Gloria (Johnson) Crisp. He passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 57 years. Michael was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of The Spiritual Israel Church and it’s Army where he was affectionately known as “3 Strang Jack” and “Spoon” because of his skills in playing the guitar. He was a member of his church singing groups, Exodus 4:22 and The Israel Sons. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1982”. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army March 3, 1983, in the 82nd Airborne Unit. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 19, 1985. Michael’s hobbies included cooking his “infamous omelettes”, playing the guitar, wrestling, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and keyboard with his longtime friend Sonny Phillips, in which they formed a group named “Chilly D and Spoony G”. Michael was the comedian of the family and will be missed by all. Michael leaves to cherish his memory, two children, Michael, Jr. and Jalisa Crisp; four grandchildren, Amarus, Akiya, Christiny and Christopher all of Saginaw, MI; his parents, Bishop Bobby and Elder Bride Mother, Gloria Davis; sisters, Jacqueline Henderson, Grand Rapids, MI, Makiba Davis, Garden City, MI, Rashida (Rod) Davis, Redford, MI, Tameka (Terry) Starks, Princess and Tania Jones, all of Nashville, TN; brothers, James Crisp, Jr., Columbus, OH, Charles Crisp and Bobby (Tamantha) Davis, Saginaw, MI, Gary Posey, Murfreesboro, TN and Keith Jones, Nashville, TN; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and friends; god-mother, Elder Delphine Mills, Detroit, MI; god-brothers, Samuel and Willie Moore, Jr; god-sisters, Theresa (Karl) Murphy, Charrise Flowers-Craig, Danyelle Page. Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Crisp; brother, Christopher Crisp; father, James W. Crisp, Sr.; grandparents, Minor and Cordelia Johnson, Paul Nelson and Lucille Kelly, and Will and Katie Davis. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m. Elder Joseph Grace will officiate.
