Ms. Mildred Turner

Our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mildred Turner, forever our guardian angel, was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 31, 2020, surrounded by her love ones, at the age of 65 years. Ms. Turner was born November 7, 1954, in Durant, Mississippi, daughter of Inell (Roundtree) Hoover and the late Roosevelt Hoover. Mildred Turner, lovingly known as “Mirror” and “Millie”, graduated from Ruben Daniels Life Long Learning Center. She also earned her secretarial credentials and certification. Mildred was an avid volunteer. Praying for her family was her priority, as Mildred was a confessed and devout believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized as a young adult. She was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith. She enjoyed listening to all genres of music, especially gospel and the oldies. Playing Cash Word Crossword Puzzles was one of her favorite pastimes. To cherish memories of her loving smile, love, prayers, and words of wisdom she leaves her mother, Inell Hoover; her children, Sherie Shuntel Turner of Willoughby Hills, OH and Igister Junior Turner III of Saginaw, MI; three grandchildren, LaTonya Vernisha Turner, Imani Sherie Turner and Briana Chardonnay Hill; two great-grandchildren, A'den Kartez Perry and Kyler Iman Davis-Turner; four sisters, Mae Etha Williams of Detroit, MI, Carrie (Larry) Campbell, Sr. of Saginaw, MI, Sadie (Brady) Baldwin of Lubbock, TX and Bessie Sydney of Saginaw, MI; three brothers, Walter Hoover of Birmingham, AL, Louis (Jayme) Harris Jr. of Saginaw, MI, and Billy Hoover of Ionia, MI; mother-in-law, Minnie Mae (Turner) Clayton; the father of her children, Igister Junior Turner, Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Laura Turner, Irma (Marshall Ward) Turner and Annette Turner; extended families, Donalds, Robys, Turners and Campbells; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Irma and Laura Turner and Mary Bond. Mildred was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Hoover; brothers, Jerry and John Hoover; her grandmothers and grandfather; aunts and uncles; two sisters-in law; and four brothers-in-law. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care of our beloved to the AFC; her Hospice nurses and care team, Don, Hope, Amanda and Steve; Guardianship Services; the team at T&T Innovations; Mildred’s caring neighbors and friends of the Bayside Community. In order to comply with the COVID-19 guidelines a private funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Pastor Curtis Johnson will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Monday, April 6, 2020 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
