Minnie Evans

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 69 years. She was born on September 19, 1943 in Sumter, SC the daughter of Abraham McKeiver, Sr. and Annie Mae McCray. Mrs. Evans worked at Vlasic Pickle Factory and Shorthorn Meat Market. She was a past member of Bethel Chapter #23, OES. She was also a longtime and faithful member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Mass Choir and the Gospel Chorus. Mrs. Evans was a great bowler and participated on many bowling leagues over the years. She enjoyed watching judge reality shows and Family Feud. She was a sports fanatic and she loved the Detroit Tigers. Minnie was married to LeeRoy Evans, Sr., he preceded her in death in 2003. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Angela M. Crowley, Jacksonville, FL, LeeRoy (Valerie) Evans, Jr., LaShonda Evans and Reginald (Shannon) Evans, all of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Marcus Crowley II, Winter Park, FL, Kayla Ivey, Kent, OH, Karia "Princess" Evans, Saginaw, MI, Christopher and Leah Evans, LaVerne, TN, Reginald Andre Thornes, Baton Rouge, LA, Michael D. and Chyna Campbell, both of Saginaw, MI, Cinnamon and Mackayla Wynn, Jacksonville, FL; great-grandson, Matthew Tate Crowley; nephew, Derek (Stephanie) McKeiver; sister, Patricia Ann Davis; special sister-in-law and friend, Ernestine Evans; special family members, Susan Furman, Felecia McBride and Gregory (Tonyal) McBride; godchildren, LeBrenan Evans, Kim Jefferson and Tanita Ezell; many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Vera Toney, Josie Bradley, Mildred Ezell, Verba Martin, Georgia Jones, Earnestine Donald and Louis Langston. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham McKeiver, Sr. and Annie Mae McCray; and one brother, Abraham McKeiver, Jr. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Mark Greenwell and staff. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 721 Johnson St. Pastor Emeritus Roosevelt Austin, Sr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
