Ms. Mynesha Lashay Simms

Mynesha (Big Ma) Lashay Simms was born on August 18, 1989, Saginaw, MI with her identical twin sister, Lakesha (Lil Ma) Myshay Simms and to her late father, Harrold (Big Poppa) Payton Harris and her mother Gwendolyn Louise Simms. Mynesha Lashay Simms was affectionately known as “Big Ma.” She confessed Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and was a member of Freedom Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Bragg and Co-Pastor Margaret Bragg. Mynesha attended Bridgeport High School, graduated-class of 2008, where she played four years on the basketball team. She loved math and figuring out challenges with numbers. And she always stayed in contact with most of her middle and high school friends, especially her best friends, the twins-Brittany and Brandi Webb. Mynesha was “the baby,” of fifteen (15) siblings. She didn’t have any biological children. However, she was a Licensed Foster care Parent with the State of Michigan and she went above and beyond to ensure children remained with their families. Mynesha loved nurturing her nieces, nephews, and god-children by spending time with them, buying snacks/clothes, shopping for shoes/Jordan’s, taking them to the park, and having sleepovers for days at a time. She had a strong bond with her siblings always looked forward to having family gatherings, playing cards, listening to old-school music, going on trips out of state, and after a long work week, she pride herself with getaways to Detroit every weekend with her significant other, Antwon Clayton. Mynesha had strong interest in old-school cars and was always excited about learning about them from one of her best friends, James Prince. Mynesha most recent plan and motivations were to move into a bigger home that she had already secured to accommodate her so that she can provide care for at least four more children. She had also secured childcare for the children with her sister Tanya, newly opened daycare that is now named “Big Ma’s Nursery.” In honor of Mynesha’s life and legacy her sister Dallas & Sons newly open business is named “Big Ma @ Your Call Lawn Service.” Just image how big that SMILE is shining down on us. Mynesha was an employee at Nexteer Automotive for approximately 6 ½ years as a devoted Forklift Driver in Plant 3. She worked countless hours and received perfect attendance awards several times a year, not missing any scheduled work days. Everyone knows how much Mynesha LOVED her job and her co-workers at Nexteer. Even so, how much she will LOUDLY debate with you until you give in, even she was wrong, lol. She often introduced her co-workers to her family and from that point of introduction they too became “family.” Prior to her job at Nexteer, she worked approximately four years at Hemlock Semi-conductor where she was dedicated and established strong friendships with her colleagues. Her presence and BIG SMILE will truly be missed. Preceding her in death were her father: Harrold Payton Harris Jr., her grandmothers; Martha McCormick and Willie (Madear) D. Wallace; great-grandmother; Emma Schuler; her grandfathers; George (Odye) Simms and Harrold (Bubba-Jack) Harris Sr., her niece Je’Nhyla (Nonny) Simms, her aunties; Marva Murphy-Reed and Bettye J. Walker, and uncles Michael Simms and Terry Simms; godson Antayvion Clayton. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; Daughter, Godmother, Sister, Aunt- We Salute You, Big Ma!
