Ms. Myrtle Richmond

Ms. Myrtle L. Richmond was born May 1, 1923 in Bells, Tennessee to Ed Richmond and Minnie Alice (Lee) Burnett. She passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 98 years. Ms. Myrtle was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan for a number of years. She was a domestic worker and was formerly employed in the dining area of O’Hare International Airport. Myrtle’s hobbies included, fishing, sewing, playing bingo, listening to the blues, watching movies and T.V. shows. Her most favorite shows were “Walker Texas Ranger and, Sanford and Son”. She had interests in Classic cars, sports cars and riding on a Harley Motorcycle. Ms. Richmond enjoyed family gatherings, wearing jewelry, being fashionable, bright happy colors with fuchsia being her favorite color. She was known for her many famous “Grandma” quotes. She enjoyed life! Ms. Myrtle L. Richmond leaves to cherish many memories: five children, John Henry Lee, Alice Fay (Lee) Goens, Annie Carolyn (Lee) Cross, Edward Russell Lee and Rachel Louise (Lee) Bill Wagner; 21 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren which 10 out of the 17 has completed five generations; a host of friends. Ms. Richmond was preceded in death by three children, Barbie Jean Lee, Mara Lee, and Freddie Lee II; great-grandchildren, Shaquanna Lee, Natalia Renea Burns and Micah Jermaine Burns, Jr.; parents, Ed Richmond and Minnie Cobb Burnett; step-father, PF Burnett; grandparents, Thomas and Minnie Cobb; an aunt, Ethel Curry and uncle, Floyd Curry; daughter-in-law, Brenda and son-in-law, Limary Cross. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Harpo Singh and Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, all family and friends near and far who have supported us in prayer and assistance. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Luciose Lewis will officiate with interment in Decatur, Michigan. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
