Mr. Omar Karane Griffin

Our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Mr. Omar Karane Griffin returned home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the age of 49 years. He was born August 6, 1972 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Sylvia and Doris Griffin. Omar graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1990. He attended Ferris State University and pursued a career in healthcare. Omar had a great love for music, comic books, sketching and nature. His sweet spirit, boisterous laugh and kind smile will be forever embedded in our hearts and memory. Omar leaves to cherish his memory: a sister, Shmar Griffin; a brother, Jawaan Griffin; a very special aunt, Mildred Jackson-Lampley; aunts, Louise Jackson, Ruth Griffin, Elizabeth Cowan, Decie Cosby, Joyce McCaster, Barbara Allen-Styles, Norene Robinson, Catrena Lawrence and Jeanine Young; special uncle, Ned (Chiquita) McCaster Jr.; uncles, Charles Jackson, Thomas Jackson Jr., Robert Lampley Jr., Clemmie Griffin, Moses Griffin, Larry Graham Sr. and Edward (Delana) Allen; great-aunts and great-uncle, Judy B. Mr. Omar Griffin was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Griffin; father, Doris Griffin; nephew, Ditravius Campbell; grandparents, Cleodester and Thomas Jackson, Sr., Edward Parker and Vannie Mae Griffin; aunts, Delores Kirks, Belinda Jo Jackson and Lee Eunice Reeves; uncles, Michael and Calvin Jackson, Sr., James (Ike) Griffin; cousins, Anthony Griffin, Kimberly Lyles, Cynthia and Jimmy Henderson; and good friend, Durand Myles. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Marcelle T. Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
