Mrs. Ozle "Big O" Jackson

Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and hero. Mrs. Ozle Jackson, surrounded by her loved ones, exited this Earthly life on a First Class ticket to her Heavenly life on November 20, 2023, at the age of 86. Ozle Chatman (pronounced Oh Z) arrived on October 12, 1937, to parents Hazel and Sterling Chapman Sr in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. From there the family moved to Carrollton, MI. Ozle would attend Saginaw High School from 1951-1955. during her school years she met and married Kimbrough Jackson, Jr. in November 1957 expanding there family with 7 beautiful children. Through her years of working, Ozle developed a green thumb with a natural knack for landscaping. She loved, loved, loved, tending to her many colorful flowers. If she could paint the world with flowers, she'd done it for free. Ozle was a staunch God-fearing woman and loved going to church listening and singing the praises of our Lord and Savior. Later in life she became a faithful member at Word of Faith International Ministries. Ozle had a sweet, classy personality. She was sweet as honey but could sting like a honeybee if disrespected. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, but she was no pushover. After all, she was a strong, fearless woman who stood her ground on her P's & Q's. That was her integrity. Ozle also loved traveling, getting new ideas for flowers and home decorating via HGTV network, working in her yard, enjoying a good meal, and most importantly spending time with all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ozle will be cherished by many loved ones. Her beloved children sons Roderick, Daryl, and Darwin Jackson of Saginaw, MI; daughters Aundrelia Jackson (her beloved caregiver), Stephanie (Jon) Timmons, and Ro'Shawn Jackson of Saginaw, MI; her sisters Lottie Webb and Shirley Brooks of Saginaw, MI; brothers Leroy (Connie) Chatman of Buena Vista, MI, Harry (Teresa) Chatman of Bossier City, LA, and Riley Chatman of Shreveport, LA; her sister in laws Joyce Chatman of Bay City, MI, and Margaret Culpepper of Saginaw, MI; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a special friends Ms. Patricia Whitson of Saginaw, MI, Ms. Vivian Corr of Spring Hill, TN; alongside many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ozle was preceded in death by her husband Kimbrough Jackson Jr., parents, Sterling Chatman Sr. and Hazel Chatman; son Gregory Jackson; brothers Johnny Chatman, Sterling Chatman Jr., sister Vermell Arrington (Chapman), and her very special friend Ms. Lottie (Debra) Williams. Finally, a very special thank you to Nurse Brooks caregiver and Nurse Kelly from 1st Hospice. God bless you for your tremendous amount of care you given Miss Ozle (mommie)for the past year. Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Word of Faith International Ministries, 500 N. Washington Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Dr. Byron C. Hayes will officiate. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI. Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
