Ms. Pamela Theresa Whitehead

Pamela Theresa Whitehead, age 76, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 30, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 11, 1949, in Ft. Eustis Virginia to the late Nellie Pierce Whitehead and Spencer Whitehead II. Pam lived most of her life in Saginaw, where she built a legacy of unwavering love, resilience, and devotion to family. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School and began working for General Motors a short time later. For a brief time, she lived in New York City, but her heart always belonged to home. She ultimately returned to Saginaw because she missed her daughter so deeply a testament to the powerful love she had for her daughter. Pam was a woman of remarkable strength and grace, known for her positive spirit, even in the face of a debilitating disease and a life filled with many challenges. Through it all, she remained faithful, hopeful, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. She lived for her family especially her beloved daughter, Nellanita Whitehead; her grandchildren, Rakaya Theresa Whitehead and Roland Whitehead; her fourteen great-grandchildren; Mariah Whitehead, Madison Trice, Darius Trice Jr. , Kennedy Trice, Zoe Trice , Jade Trice, Jaden Trice, Rain Trice, Ci’Vanna Whitehead, Cyree Whitehead, Tania Carter, Roland Whitehead, Rianna Carter, Corteze Whitehead and one great-great-grandson, Trammell, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy and purpose. Pam also shared a deep special bond with her cherished niece, Dwandra Whitehead, and her special nephew, Spencer Whitehead IV, whom she loved dearly. Khari Whitehead is her great nephew who held a very special place in her heart. During her final season of life, Pam resided in a nursing home where she was blessed with the loving care and friendship of Al, as well as the devoted compassion of her very special nurse, Onae, whom she absolutely adored. She also shared many meaningful hours in heartfelt conversation with Onea who was faithfully at her bedside in her final moments. Pam also held a very special friendship with Michael Hogan, who lives out of town and remained close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Spencer Whitehead II; her brothers, Spencer Whitehead III and Gregory Whitehead; her beloved niece, LilTasha Whitehead; and her nephew, Gregory Whitehead Jr., all of whom she carried in her heart. Pam will be remembered for her gentle heart, her relentless pursuit of keeping her eyelashes done, an unshakable perseverance, and the unconditional love she poured into every generation of her family. Her life was a testimony of endurance, faith, and selfless love. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory and legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Hoyt Nursing Home, particularly, Big C, Michelle, Rolanda and Barb for their kindness and generosity. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 N. 6th Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Father Frank Voris, OSM,CAP will officiate with interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 3440 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
