Mr. Patrick Moore

Patrick Henry Moore Sr. passed away on Tuesday December 27th 2022 at the age 91. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friends. Patrick was born November 13, 1931, in Stallo Mississippi, the fifth of sixteen children born to Wilson and Callie Moore. Patrick graduate from Hopewell High School in 1952. Two years later in 1954 Patrick decided to chase his dreams of getting married and being part of the great migration and headed north to Saginaw, MI for employment with General Motors Corp and to join a blooper ball or baseball summer league. Patrick immediately found employment with General Motors Corp, Chevrolet Saginaw Metal Plants, where he spent 38 years pouring iron before retiring. He was a proud member of local 668 and was awarded with numerous certifications and plaques for his outstanding work ethic, perfect attendance, monetary bonus for suggestions that saved or made General Motors millions of dollars. He also worked seasonal at the Sugar Beet Factory for 25 years. Patrick played on several summer league baseball teams until 1967 after suffering a serious injury to his knee after sliding home for the winning run in a tournament game at Hoyt Park. But his love for the game he continued in a coaching position, Patrick converted to Catholicism after marrying his first wife Dorothy J. Welch July 17, 1954, four children were born from their union until she made her heavenly transition June 21, 2000, after 46 years of marriage. Patrick was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Peter Claver; he held many positions within both organizations. Patrick Henry Moore Sr. Leaves behind a devoted wife of 20 years Ruth Pew Moore; two sons, Patrick (Maria) Moore Jr. of Saginaw, TX and Kenneth (Christina) Moore of Saginaw MI; three daughters, Janice L. Moore of Saginaw MI, Monica Moore Ford of Dayton OH and Adrian Pew of Saginaw, MI; one step-son Bryan (Laura) Pew of Austin TX; seven grandchildren, Kenneth (Isabella) Moore Jr. of Manhattan, NY, Kevin (Alyssa)Moore of Saginaw MI, Samantha Moore of Detroit MI, Jacob Moore and Jacqueline Moore-Oliver of Saginaw TX, Ryan A.L Ford of Dayton OH and Patricia R Pew of Saginaw MI; six-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Girtha (Earl) Glass of Sui Sum CA. Thelma (Arthur) Well of Philadelphia MS and Nedia Ray Netters of Memphis TN; three brothers, Hulbert Moore of Gary IN, Houston (Martha) Moore and Therman (Sylvia) Moore, all of Philadelphia MS; a host of cousins, sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Callie Moore; His first wife Dorothy J Moore; three sisters, Valine Kirkland, Genoa Edwards and Melonize Cheatman; six brothers, Clarence, Levi, JH, Napoleon, Walter and Benjamin Moore. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Father Alberto E. Vargas officiate with in interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 3440 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601.
