Ms. Pauline Jones

Loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Mrs. Pauline Jones was born May 1, 1953 to Joe and Rubie Smith in Saginaw, Michigan. She passed away after a lengthy illness, Saturday, September 17, 2016 with her family by her side at her residence at the age of 63 years. Pauline was a warm and kind hearted outgoing person whose spirit and personality touched many lives. She loved people and to know her, was to love her. Her motto was, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” Pauline loved bingo, family gatherings and attending church. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Alina her father, Joe Smith, Jr.; three grandchildren, Ciara (Donovan) Cannon, Jason Tarver and Jalen Tarver; one god-son, Demond Cannon; five great-granddaughters, Amari Tarver, Justice Perkins, Journey Gipson, RyAnne Tarver and Baby Tarver; five sisters, Annie (Romalis) Patterson, Milwaukee, WI, Linda Smith, Saginaw, MI, Sharon Smith, Baltimore, MD, Marilyn Cosby, Saginaw, MI and Jackie (Edwin) Garcia, Kissimmee, FL; four brothers, Bobby Smith, Saginaw, MI, Randy Smith, Baltimore, MD, Austin Smith, Saginaw, MI and Joe (Carol) Smith, Saginaw, MI; two special men she called her sons, Antwan Rodgers and Otis Buchanan; a host, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends including devoted friends, Brenda Beverly, Jason and Dorothy Tarver, Rosemary (Harold) Cannon, Josie Couch, Shirley and Earlean McKnight, Linda Guerra, Mary Avila, Bonnie Washington, Martha Franklin and a special niece, Tisha (Ms. G.) Smith. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Elgie Jones; mother, Rubie Smith; three brothers, Charles Jones, Jerome Clemons and Greg Jackson; sister, Diane Burton and special friend Alvin Cannon. The family wishes to express special thanks to her daughter, Alina Cannon, sisters, Linda Smith and Marilyn Cosby, niece, Constance Louis, Ronnie Jones, Kimberly Marshall, Audra Taylor, American Home and Hospice nurses, Denise and Cena Jayne and friend, Lanette West. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Rd. with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
