Mrs. Pearlie Mae Eldgen

Mother Pearlie Mae Eldgen sang herself into glory on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the age of 99 years. She was born March 24, 1921 to Andrew and Mattie Lee (Wiggins) McColough in Sunflower, Mississippi. Mother Pearlie confessed Christ at an early age at Second Mt. Pleasant MBC in Cruger, Mississippi. She later moved to Portsmouth, VA and then relocated to Saginaw, MI in 1975. Pearlie was a long-time member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor R. B. Austin and later united with Christ Fellowship MBC under the leadership of Pastor Harold Gates. She was employed by the Greenwood Mississippi Transportation for ten years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, helping others, spending time with family and friends. She was loving, caring and always looked forward to her birthday celebrations. Mother Pearlie leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Josephine Ray and Jewel (Willie) Humphrey, both of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren that she raised, Henry (Linda) Doshie of Saginaw, MI, Don L. Phillips of Racine, WI, Johnny Greg (Cristi) Ray of Saginaw, MI and Cheryl Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; daughters-in-law, Ann Jackson and Jill Jackson; 25 grandchildren, 75 plus great-grandchildren; brother, Archie Williams; a host of loving great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends including special friends, Pearl Dorsey, Mother Corrine Williams, Mary Cook, Rev. Lee (JoAnne) Thomas, Pastor Hurley Coleman, Sr., Harper Family, Jerry and Mark Blakely Family; special cousin, Rosie Fondren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andre & Mattie Lee (Wiggins) McColough; sister, Lettie West; brothers, William McColough and Oscar McColough; daughter, Mattie Mae Bonner; sons, Lester Jackson, Mitchell and Nero Jackson; very special family friend, Willie Tynnie. The family would like to express special thanks to Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center and the activity staff, Nichole Jones, Brenda Gator and Courtney Buchser; Staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Dr. Roy L. Manning, Sr. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Rev. Lee Arthur Thomas will officiate with interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601.Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Friday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
