Mrs. Pecolia Mustapha

Our beloved mother Pecolia (Strong) Mustapha age 65, of Saginaw, Michigan departed this life on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the University of Michigan Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born October 10, 1949 in West Point, Mississippi, the daughter of Hubert and Lillian Lee (Jones) Strong. Pecolia was a graduate of Saginaw High School “Class of 1967.” She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Pastor R.B. Corley. She was a member of Faith Harvest Church. Pecolia received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Chicago State University. She returned to Saginaw in 1990 where she accepted a position with the Center for International Earth Science Information Network, later she was employed by the Neighborhood Association for many years, before becoming an entrepreneur and opening her own Tax Preparation Service prior to her retirement. Pecolia was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Zeta Omega Zeta Chapter, serving as an advisor to the Amicettes and Archonettes and served the Chapter’s Auditor. Mrs. Pecolia Mustapha leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Tajudeen Allen Mustapha; 4 children, Tracie Amerson-Nuñez, Tajudeen Usman Mustapha (Christina Malone), Saheed Reginald Mustapha and Jonathan Elliott (Dairia) Mustapha; 7 grandchildren, Desiree Kenisha Thompson, John Wayne Kelly, Jr., Tajudeen Usman Mustapha II, Saheed Reginald Mustapha, Jr., Caprisse Ana-Maria Lynn Mustapha, Ianna Alondra Nuñez and Chance Allen Mustapha; 7 siblings, Leola Baldwin, Ethel Lindsay, Annie (James) Martin, Mary (Jimmie) Prittchet, all of Saginaw, Lee Floyd Strong of Detroit, MI, Dock Strong of Atlanta, GA and Arriel Strong of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Dr. Betty Strong of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Catherine Matthews and special caregiver, Cetina West. Mrs. Mustapha was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Lillian Lee Strong; sister, Mary Hubert Strong. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Ronald Chipp will officiate with interment in Forest lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
