Ms. Queen Mallett

Ms. Queen Esther Mallett was born July 26, 1958 in Goodman, Mississippi the daughter of Mary and Cornelius Mallett. She passed away on January 27, 2025 at the age of 66 years. Queen Esther was born in Mississippi but she was raised in Chicago, Illinois, then later moved to Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Marshall High School. Queen was a loving person and she helped so many. She enjoyed her music, loved her family and her two dogs, “Lolo and Queenie”. She loved making people laugh, everyone loved listening to her stories that she would tell. Everyone loved her. She had a heart of gold and the perfect name, Queen: because she was our “Queen”. She leaves to cherish her memory, her spouse, Alonzo Buford; four children, John Mallett, Deloise Mallett, Gregory Mallett and Alonzo Mallett all of Saginaw, MI; 11 grandchildren, Cecily, Shantara, Lil John, Jasmine, Ced’vion, Jonika, Lil Rodney, Jayvion, Chance, Timothy and A’lonnah; eight great-grandchildren, Micheal, Alonzo Jr. III, Omar, Alonnah, Jamar, Donquarrius, Duane and MiAires; sister, Delores Sloan; eleven nieces, Tonya, Sonya, Denise, Lanise, Tasha, Hesterine, Loretta, Marie, Mary, Kimberly and Yvonne; nephews, Robert Michael and Curtis Preston including special nephew, Sean Buford; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. two daughters-in-law, Glady Vine of Saginaw, MI and Evelina Huddleston; many other relatives and friends including two special friends/sisters, Jackie Buford and Inette Steel. Ms. Queen Esther Mallett was preceded in death by her daughter, Cornelia Mallett; grandkids, Alonzo Mallett, Jr. and Shanta Mallett; parents, Mary and Cornelius Mallett; sisters, Hesterine Guyton, Mary and Yvonne Mallett; special sister, Mary Williams; niece and nephews, Tenisha, Robert and Tyrone Mallett. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone that has shown support in our time of sorrow. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate. Visitation will take place on Friday at the funeral home 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
