Mr. Ronnie Ray Turner, Sr.

Mr. Ronnie Ray Turner Sr. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Surrounded by his loving family, he departed this life at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Ronnie, affectionately known as “Rappin Ronnie,” was born on March 13, 1964 in Saginaw, MI to Clifford Turner Sr. and Viola Perkins. He attended Saginaw Public Schools. Ronnie Ray accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Good or bad, Ronnie would say, "God is good!" To know Ronnie was truly to love him. His booming voice and infectious laughter could be heard from afar and his presence guaranteed a good time. He enjoyed spending quality time with family, traveling, listening to old-school R&B and attending concerts. He also had a deep love for cars, which brought him great joy. Ronnie was known for his laid-back personality, distinctive style, cool demeanor, and playful sarcasm. There was never a dull moment around him. He had a special way of making others laugh and bringing smiles to people's faces. His vibrant spirit full of laughter, love, and energy, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves loving memories with his five sons, Kasey (Breland) Staffney, Ronnie (Margaret), Xavier (Ashley), Demarcus (Sharnice), De'Vonte Turner, 20 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter all whom he dearly loved. He will be missed by his mother, Viola Perkins; sisters Dorothy Turner, Pamela Turner, Sonya Mushatt, and Doretha Johnson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Turner Sr.; son, Terry Turner; brothers, Kelvin Turner and Clifford Turner Jr.; sisters, Betty Joyce Turner-Wilson, Linda McKether and Madeline Jones; niece, Sharonda Turner; nephews, Mikeqwuan Turner and D’Varyohn McKinney; great-nephew, Quintae Cooper; and the mother of his children, Laura Taylor. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw, and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay St., Saginaw, MI 48602. Bishop Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
