Mrs. Rosie Lee Boose-Lewis

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 90 years in Saginaw, Michigan. The eldest of 13 children, Rosie Lee Boose was born July 8, 1928 in Hickory, Mississippi to the late Velma (Hill) and Henry Clay Boose. Rosie joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church under the leadership of Pastor L. G. Newton in 1952 and had been a faithful member serving in various departments of the church. She currently is a member of Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, Saginaw, MI. She received her practical nursing certification from St. Mary’s Hospital and was later employed at Saginaw County Hospital (Health Source, Saginaw), retiring in 1974. In her retirement, Rosie enjoyed traveling, talking on the phone with family and friends, and faithfully attending the “Boose Family Reunion” for 37 years straight. She also enjoyed listening to her judge shows with her favorite being “Judge Judy” and telling stories of her rich “Boose” heritage. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Wilma J. Lewis-Wirrick, Linda F. (Robert) Wilson, Fresno, TX, Cecelia R. (Everett) Rolling, Killeen, TX, and Rosalind R. Lewis-Tillman, Saginaw, MI; daughter-in-law, Marijke Matadin, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; brothers, Arthur (Rubye) Boose, Charles (Cynthia) Boose, Bernard Boose, and James (Constance) Boose, all of Chicago, IL, Sidney “Knot” (Dot) Tanksley, Hickory, MS; sisters, Ann Boose (Elijah) Buffington, Chicago, IL, Lucy Boose-Boulton, Mason, OH, Pastor Ruby Boose (Deacon Kermit) Thames, Hummelstown, PA, and Shirley Boose (John) Dunnaway, Saginaw, MI; 29 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Special appreciation and acknowledgement to Rosie’s caregivers, Elizabeth Watley, Mia Scott, O. J. Jones, Carrie Spencer, Sabrina Morris and others. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lewis; daughters, Charlie Mae Lewis-Gray, Janice Lewis-Tippins; and son, Larry Ray Lewis. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2115 Wadsworth Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Steve Bramwell will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
