Mrs. Sadie Lee Vance

Mrs. Sadie Lee Vance, a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on April 30, 2020 at the blessed age of 102 years. She was born December 13, 1917 in Sledge, Mississippi to the parents of Ollie and Texanna (Perry) Kidd. She was the oldest living member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Vance was a Godly woman who loved family, church, friends, and worshipping under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Roosevelt Austin, Sr. and Pastor Rodrick Smith. She was faithful in the Nurses Guild, the Skipworth Murphy Circle and as a Blue Star Mother. She enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and cooking. She was an excellent cook and made the best dressing in town. Mrs. Vance leaves to cherish many precious memories, her devoted children, Elizabeth Vance, Eddie Abraham, Ruth White, Maudine Vamper, George Mitchell, John Vance, Carl-Ray Vance and Billy Vance; extended family, the White family; a host of grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and a double host of great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jessie Sullivan, Memphis, TN; daughters-in-law, Carole Vance and Pecola Mitchell; son-in-law, Theron Vamper; one sister-in-law, Floy Kidd, Memphis, TN, other relatives and friends including special friends, Silva Casey, Gail Porter, Stella Williams and Naomi Kerr. Mrs. Sadie Lee Vance was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vance; four children, Clarence and Sammy White, Inez and Irene Vance; her parents, Ollie and Texanna Kidd; siblings, Tirier Kay Kendall, Clarence Kidd, Willie Mae Kidd, Ella Mae Elmore, Lessie Dismukes, Ora L. Cotton, Chester Kidd, Leon Harris, Annie McGhee and Ed Gilchrist; a dear friend, Lottie McClain. The family would like to express special thanks to Jimmy White, Lavern White and Linda F. Young. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. A private family service will be held. Pastor Rodrick Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S.
