Mr. Samuel Lee "Bae Bruh" Arthur

Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother Mr. Samuel Lee Arthur "Bae-Bruh" went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2017 at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Samuel L. Arthur was born September 8, 1945 in Sicily Island, Louisiana to Aaron Bell Arthur and RosaLee Mickens Arthur. He was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, attended Saginaw high School and Retired from General Motors Corporation. Mr. Arthur was a member of Ninth Street Mennonite Community Church and enjoyed church, traveling, fishing, boxing, shopping and cooking. Sam was a humble God fearing man who loved and cared for his family dearly especially his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years, Elma Deloris Arthur; and four sons, Mark Macon, Samuel (Raven) Sword, Larry (Amanda) Shelton and Rodriguez Guy Sr.; 20 grandchildren, Latoya Guy-Mitchell, Xe’Mya “Pie” Griffin, Samaria Crump-Shelton, Janessa Monahan-Sword, Mason, Roman and Steele Sword, Sophia Shelton, Monai and Mark Macon Jr, Wesley Bolton, Rodriguez Guy-Mitchell, Brittany Nash, Rodriguez Jr., Rodriguez, LaSonya, Michael, Shaunte, and Gabrielle Guy, and Imari Shelton-Teneyuque; three sisters, Betty (Evander) Scott, Geraldine Mason and Gail Hysten, sisters-in-law Gail (George) Thompkins, Gloria (Milton) Means and Helen DeShazer; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Jennifer) DeShazer and Garland DeShazer Jr.; special aunt, Ruby Williams; god-son, Leon Burns III; god-daughter, Laila Griffin; friend, Butler Mack; and a host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Bell Arthur, Sr.; his mother, RosaLee Arthur; three brothers, Kelvin, Larry and Aaron Arthur Jr.; four sisters, Susie Turnbull, RosaLee Bates, Esther Sanders and Betty Riley; and mother and father-in-law, Helen and Garland DeShazer Sr. The Family would like to express special thanks to Saginaw Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center, Dr Byron Hayes and Word of Faith International Ministries, Pastor William Scott and Ninth Street Community Church (Mennonite). Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Word of Faith International Ministries, 500 North Washington, Saginaw, MI, Pastor Byron C.Hayes, host pastor. Pastor William L. Scott, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI.
