Mr. Samuel Perkins

Mr. Samuel Lee Perkins was born March 3, 1949 in Uniontown, Alabama to Nathaniel and Willie Mae (Flemings) Perkins. He passed away at the age of 72 years. Mr. Perkins was a construction worker in Uniontown, Alabama. He was a member of Daniel’s Den Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Taurus Simpson. He loved watching TV and his favorite shows were “Let’s Make a Deal”, “The Price Is Right”, judge shows and he always made jokes. Samuel loved the Lord! He leaves to cherish many precious memories his beautiful and loving wife of 42 years, Laurilla Hines Perkins, Saginaw, MI; seven children, Debra Williams, Makesha Perkins, Michelle Hines, Travis and James Williams, Curtis Perkins, all of Boston, MA and Jerwayne (Melissa) Hines, Saginaw, MI; a special granddaughter that he raised as his own, Da’Maya Mills; other grandchildren, Ka’Nija Mills, Janyla, Jerwayne, Jr. and Justyce Hines, Layla, Kaylee, Shonda and Shakera Williams, Marion, Eugene and Jamal Woody, Trevon and Thomas Perkins; great-grandchildren, Sariyah Williams, Nyla and Samiya Turner, Jahir Warren, Serenity Mables, Khail Newson, Marion, Eugene, Zahir Jackson, Trevon Perkins, Jr. and Ja’Leya Gorham; a special sister, Mary Coleman including his other sisters, Willie Mae Coleman, Levon Bailey, Alice Arrington, Cathy McCall, Sharon Cage, and Geraldine Coleman ; one special brother who he loved to death, John (Karen) Perkins; uncle, David Flanigan, Bessemer, AL; two godchildren, Jillian Collins and Cynithia Rivers; a host of sisters-in-law; many other relatives and friends including special nieces, Tameka Perkins, Sandra (Sonny) Coleman-Browning; special nephews, Dr. DeQuavion Robinson, John Perkins, Jr., Robert Arrington and Edward Perkins; other relatives and friends. Samuel was preceded in death by parents, Nathaniel and Willie Mae Perkins; brother, Robert Perkins; aunts, Alice Smith, Ossie Ree Woods, Fannie Coleman and Bertha Ree Young; mother-in-law, Mary Lee (Calvin) Hines; brothers-in-law, Michael Barker, Sammy Lee Hines and Jmes Hines. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Taurus Simpson will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
