Mrs. Sandra Lee Allen Richard

On June 23, 1965, a beautiful angel was born to the late Willie and India Allen in Saginaw, Michigan. She was the youngest of five born to this union; they named her Sandra Allen. Sandra loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. When she moved to Ann Arbor, she became a member of Metropolitan Memorial Full Gospel Baptist Church. Her religious belief and faith continued to be an extremely important part of her life until she went to be with the lord on March 16, 2016. Sandra graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. She married Kevin M. Richard on December 9, 1988 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and from this union two children were born. Sandra was employed at Wellspring Lutheran Services and was a patient, and supportive Social Worker, with a passion for working with the elderly. She had a love for people, especially children. Sandra was known as a second mother to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Kevin M. Richard Sr.; daughter, Kevandria (Donald) Richard-Foreman of Belleville, MI; son Kevin M. Richard Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI; step-daughter, Angel (Omar) Lake of Fort Lauderdale, FL; granddaughter, Kaidonn Foreman of Belleville, MI; three sisters, Idell (Christopher) Chaffer of Saginaw, MI, Genetta (Mark) Thomas of Idlewild, MI and Wilenda (Gilbert) Jones of Fort Wayne, IN; mother-in-law, Esther Richard of Saginaw, MI; sister-in-law, Lillian G. Donahue of Merrill, MI; two brothers-in-law, Frank Richard of Ypsilanti, MI and Terry (Emma) Richard of Saginaw, MI; three aunts, Lena Mae Franklin of Memphis, TN, Delia Olison of Los Angeles, CA and Delores McLemore-Allen of Detroit, MI; five nieces, Alexis Chaffer of Belleville, MI, Anjanette Chaffer of Belleville, MI, Lisa Jones of Fort Wayne, IN, Keisha Richard of Saginaw, MI and Cindy Richard of Salem, MA; eight nephews, Mark (Carla) Thomas, Christopher (Gina) Chaffer, Michael (Sharie) Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Gilbert Jones, Darren Richard and Terry (Setira) Richard, all of Saginaw, MI and Reggie (Cora) Richard of Montgomery, AL; two goddaughters, Chrystal Harrison and Indiya Turner, both of Belleville, MI; a host of other relatives and friends. Sandra was preceded in death by sister, Leatha L. Allen; great niece, Marlese Thomas; father-in-law, Frank Richard, Sr. and brother-in-law, Larry Richard. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Paul Baptist Church, 120 North 15th Street. Pastor Vincent McMillon, Host Pastor and Kevin Richard, Jr. will officiate with interment in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
