Mrs. Sandra Faye Chaffer

Sandra Faye Weems-Chaffer was born March 2, 1958, in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Ruby and Louis Weems. She passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the age of 65 years. Sandra was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1976. She dedicated 40 years of her life to St. Mary’s Hospital where she worked in environmental services. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with family and using terms of endearment. She had a personality like no other! Mrs. Chaffer leaves to cherish many memories, her loving husband of 38 years, Daniel Chaffer; her one and only daughter, Latoya (De’Eddrick, Sr.) Lowe, both of Saginaw, MI; four grandchildren, De’Eddrick Lowe II, De’Asia, De’Toya and De’Kanye Lowe, all of Saginaw; five sisters, Ruby McGee, Dorothy Scott, Juanita Weems, Deborah Weems, and Rolonda Walker, all of Saginaw, MI; brothers, Louis Weems, Jr. and Ricky Weems, both of Saginaw, MI; extended grandchildren, Kayla Trice and Micaha Applegate; two sisters-in-law, Billie Sue Chaffer, Detroit, MI and Evelyn Weems, Saginaw, MI; four brothers-in-law, John (Lucille) Chaffer, Christopher (Idell) Chaffer, David (Patricia) Chaffer and Michael (Cynthia) Chaffer, all of Saginaw, MI; many nieces and nephews; god-children, Trellis, Crystal, Elliott, Perry and Zach all of Saginaw, MI; friends including Aaron Tucker (whom she called her son), Eunice, Tamika and Imma Donald, Lance, Felix (Evelina) Garcia and close friend, Mary Myles. Mrs. Sandra Faye Weems - Chaffer was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ruby Weems; brother, Willie “Peter” Weems; sister, Annie Kelly; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sevarine and John Chaffer; sisters-in-law, Frances Porter, Ruth “Marie” Johnson and Toni Chaffer; brothers-in-law, Alvin and Morris Chaffer and Andrew Scott; three nieces, Adrian Weems, India Mackey and Mi’Legacy Scott, god-daughter, Terry Laury . The family would like to express special thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Health Source-Saginaw and Promedica Hospice, along with friends and family. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, January 26, 2024 at New Christ Community Church, 3302 Grant St., Saginaw, MI 48601, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Dr. Eugene Seals, Pastor. Asst. Pastor Audrey Parker will officiate. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington , Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00-6:00 PM.
