Mr. Sandy "Delo" Donald

Mr. Sandy “Delo” Donald gained his heavenly wings on November 26, 2024 at the age of 58 years. Sandy was born March 23, 1966 in Louisville, Mississippi to Mary Ann (Collier) and Jimmie Dale Donald. The family relocated to Saginaw, Michigan shortly after his birth. Sandy was an exceptional artist and accomplished alto saxophone player in middle and high school. Sandy won many awards for his accomplishments. Sandy graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1984. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school, and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. He returned to Saginaw in 1991 and then in 2004, relocated to Grand Rapids, MI. Sandy was always a hard worker, always keeping a job and he kept working until the last month of his life. He was a major sports fan (baseball and football); he loved his cups of coffee and playing his daily lottery. Sandy, most of all, loved calling his loved ones every day, multiple times a day, just to check in. Sandy was always just a phone call away. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. Sandy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dagne Donald, Mobile, AL; three sons, Dequindre Donald, Saginaw, MI, Santwan Donald, Mobile, AL, Jakkia (Tyquandre) Williams, Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Ashley Donald, Pensacola, FL; seven sisters, Sandra (Scott) Collier, Tiffany Collier, Dureen Donald, Nina (Gerald) Staffney, Nanette Steele, Tonya (James) Jones all of Saginaw, MI, Makahla Donald, Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Tyrone Dudley; 13 grandchildren, Marciano, Cameryn, Kieriana, Saniya, Ryleigh, Kennedi, Carter, Cameron, Noah, Naiyomi, Amiylah, Jailiyn and Ayden; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends and family, Tonia Folk, De’ja Johnson, Nicholyn Thompson, Micheal McClain, Arthur Burnside, Jr., Darnell Davis, Sr., Andre and Danny Hubbard. Mr. Sandy “Delo” Donald was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents; his son, Joshua “Josh” Donald; sister, Wanda “Gale” Ramsey; seven uncles; three aunts; god-parents, Napoleon and Juanita Jackson. The family expresses appreciation to Trinity Healthcare of Grand Rapids, MI, The American Cancer Society and everyone who has reached out to offer sincere condolences to the family. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Tonya Jones will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
