Mrs. Sarah N. Rowland

Ms. Sarah Nell White-Rowland was born in April 12, 1949 in Yorkville, Georgia the daughter of Willie Belgum Williams and Mary Ruth White. She passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the age of 75 years. Ms. White-Rowland became a resident of Saginaw, Michigan in 1971. She was a graduate of Ross Medical School and also received a degree as an Architect. She was a member of Mt. Olive Olibett Baptist Church in Rockmart, GA. Sarah worked at the Neighborhood House in the 80’s, Vlasic Pickle Factory, Health Source Saginaw, Romanow Building Service MGI of Georgia and retired as part owner of S&L Janitorial Service. She got a big kick out of picking with her ex-husband. She enjoyed joking, traveling - driving the highway, cooking dressing, shopping, listening to music (mainly UGK), dancing, doing crossword puzzles and coloring. She loved birds, plants, hanging with her family and friends. She was cool, down to earth, sassy, she was a pistol( if it would be one, it would be an oozie automatic). She was a loving mother who enjoyed raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took a lot of children in and treated them as if they were her own. Everybody called her “Momma Rowland”. She leaves to cherish many memories her children, Sandra and James Rowland, Janice Oglesby (Darnell), Helen Rowland (Randy) all of Saginaw, Gloria Rowland-Doster (John Anthony), Georgia, Marie Meyers, GA, Lorise Rowland (Danny) and Tannia Rowland (Willie) both of Saginaw and Van Jr. Rowland (Tokeshia), Grand Rapids, MI; 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandies; sisters, Mazell Lewis, Virginia Cook and Wanda Wright; brothers, Larry Tolbert and Joe Freeman; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ms. Sarah Nell White-Rowland was preceded in death by an infant son (her oldest); her mother, Mary Ruth White; father, Willie Belgium Williams; grandchildren, Vadel Chandler and Van’Quavyis O’Neal Tinsley; great-grandchildren, Cimmron Jr. Pullium and Stormi Rose Presley; sister, Willie Ann White and her former husband and best friend, James Henry Rowland. Funeral service will take at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
