Mrs. Sharron Yvette Hall

Sharron (Shah-Ron) Yvette Hall at age 78 years, accepted her call from the Lord on December 13, 2017 at Covenant Cooper hospital with her loving family by her side. Sharron was born January 15, 1939 in Chicago IL the daughter of Shelby Smith and Cornelia Mae Tankersley Smith. The Tankersley-Smith children journeyed to Freeport Illinois to live with their grandmother Cordelia Carter. In Freeport, under the stern but loving guidance of her grandmother is where Sharron was introduced to the Lord, becoming a member of the St. James CME Church. In 1954 Sharron decided to move to Saginaw MI where she could be closer to her mother. In Saginaw is where Sharron met and married Saginaw High school’s star athlete, William (Tom) Hall. Born of this union, were six children. Sharron and Tom were married for 54 years before Tom passed away March 18, 2009. Before Sharron made the decision to stay home to raise her family, she worked in the kitchen at St. Mary’s hospital. Once all six children were in school full-time Sharron took a position as Cashier at the local Kroger’s grocery store. Sharron knew life had better plans for her and, the only way to meet that mark, was to further her education. Sharron enrolled at Delta College into the Licensed Practical Nursing program. After graduating as an LPN, Sharron returned once again to St. Mary’s Hospital. Still feeling that her fullest potential as a nurse was not being fulfilled, Sharron was off to Mid-Michigan Community College to obtain her Registered Nursing degree in 1985. Serving St. Mary’s Hospital until her retirement in 1999. The ICU, CCU and Cardiac Cath Labs were the benefactors of her dedicated service as a Registered Nurse. All who knew Sharron found her to have a kind and gentle spirit, she had the ability to make you instantly feel loved. Her family and friends understood that caretaking was her second nature. Sharron not only took care of those she loved when they fell ill, she also opened her home to many nieces and nephews, making them equal parts of her family. What pleased Sharron more than anything was her family. Sharron poured her love into her children and her children’s children. Nothing brought Sharron more joy than holding a new grandchild, or attending all her grandchildren’s graduation ceremonies, something she did even when mobility became difficult. Traveling was a favorite past-time especially if it involved visiting family in Minnesota, Texas, or Illinois. Checking out all the casinos along the way was also enjoyed by Sharron. Sharron was a loyal member of St. Luke CME Church of Saginaw, MI., where she raised her children and was a leader of various Youth Groups. Later Sharron and family joined Bethel AME Church where she worshiped until her death. Sharron also looked forward to her monthly meetings with the women of The Mahogany Club. Sharron leaves behind a lasting legacy her memories will be especially cherished by her children: Norene (Tracy) Travis, Stephanie Hall, Barbara (Kenneth) Reynolds, all of Saginaw, Thelonious Brent (Jacquelyn) Hall, Cordelia (Manuel) Gonzalez of Lansing MI and Sharron Michelle Hall of Detroit; ten grandchildren, Charice (Sebastian) Manley, Sylvester Bandy, Sidney Bandy, Shelbi (Philip White) Hall, Chelsea Hall, Charon Reynolds, Miguel Gonzalez, Jasmine Hall, Samara Gonzalez and Bria Hall; seven great-grandchildren, Amara, Sebastian Jr., Saniya, Jewel, Payeton, Noah and Thelonious; sister, Alfreida Kirksey, Minneapolis, MN; brother, Michael (Edna) Smith, San Francisco, CA; uncle; James Canada, Freeport, IL; a very special sister-in-law, Josephine Fisher-Hall, Washington, DC; special nieces: Debra Blakely, Walzetta Avery and Vada Jones; special cousins, Olivia Newson and Sarah Canty; two of her life long friends Barbara Holmes and Barbara Tucker; all of her club members, of The Mahogany Club, the family thanks the many friends and family that came to visit her during her illness and thankful for her class leaders at Bethel A.M.E., Elaine & Houston Jackson and the Bethel A.M.E. family. Sharron was preceded by husband, William (Tom) Hall; mother, Cornelia Wallace; father, Shelby Smith; grandmother, Cordelia Carter; sister, Joyce Smith; brother-in-law, Samuel M. Hall Jr; sisters-in-law, Pearl Jamerson and Ovella Bond. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Doris Cataquiz; U of M Hospital staff; Nurses and Doctors at Covenant Harrison (3rd and 6th floor) and Covenant Cooper (3rd floor CICVU) and staff at Covenant-Mackinaw Infusion Clinic. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 535 Cathay Street. Pastor Dennis Laffoon will officiate with entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m.
